50 Cent is known for making an enemy or two throughout his decades long career in the spotlight. The rapper has beefed with everyone from Jay-Z to JaRule, Floyd Mayweather and Wendy Williams to name a few. One beef that has always left people puzzled is the one between the rapper and his first born, Marquise Jackson.
Born October 13, 1996, Marquise was a staple throughout 50’s early career, appearing in the video for “Wanksta”. 50 used to speak fondly of his eldest, even giving him credit for changing his life.
“When my son came into my life, my priorities changed, because I wanted to have the relationship with him that I didn’t have with my father,” he said to Vh1. He even has a tattoo of Marquise on his right bicep.
Nowadays 50 Cent only post about his youngest son Sire Jackson. When he does post about Marquise its typically to patronize the young man. Last summer he compared him to Tekashi 6ix9ine. “He better than Marquise. I’ll take him before I take my actual [son],” he said to his followers on Instagram. “F–k that n—a.”

In response, Marquise fired back at his famous dad, saying, “Did he just say he would claim a rat? Aww nah, I want no part to that cheese. I don’t know what y’all got going on over there. That’s some other s–t. Stupid!”
Hoping to shed some light on the situation and defend her song, Marquise mother Shaniqua Tompkins told a never before heard story about Marquise and 50’s last interaction. At 50’s grandmothers funeral, his son had to walk past him to view the body. On his way past his father, the young man stopped and kissed his estranged dad on the forehead, before returning to his seat. The segment begins around the one hour mark.
“We go to the funeral– this was about six years ago– we’re already there, we’re sitting on the family side. [50] comes in late with the girl Tatted Up Holly,” said Shaniqua. “We go to view the body and to go view the body, you have to walk in front of [50] because he’s in the first row. Marquise hadn’t spoken to his father in years, it had to be about 2-3 years. He went over to his dad and kissed him on the forehead. So when you say ego, I’m lost with that one. If that wasn’t a beautiful gesture… he went and kissed his father on the forehead and proceeded back to his seat.”
Before being able to elaborate further, the interview was cut short.
