50 Cent’s relationship with his other son Marquise Jackson has been well-publicized. Though Marquise looks like a spitting image of the rapper, 50 Cent has gone on the record as being done with his oldest son – and the sentiment has seemed to go both ways over the years.
There wasn’t always bad blood between 50 Cent and his 22 year-old son. In a past interview 50 Cent revealed when Marquise was born his life changed for he better. “When my son came into my life, my priorities changed, because I wanted to have the relationship with him that I didn’t have with my father,” he said (via VH1). 50 Cent also has a tattoo of Marquise on his right bicep.
During a 2014 interview on Philly’s Morning Show with Shamara and Laiya, 50 Cent claimed, his estranged son, Marquise ’embraced his mom’s perspective’ of him, which ruined their relationship. After the interview, 50 Cent’s baby mama, and mother of Marquise went to social media to set the record straight. “You don’t have a relationship with my child because you choose not to, you want to bully him, threaten him, and talk about his mother in a disparaging manner.”
“I don’t try to mentally abuse my son like you do! I don’t talk about you your actions speak for themselves. Who threatens to sh–t their son on Instagram?”
Back in 2016, 50 Cent attempted to reach out to Marquise via social media leaving a comment under his post, “You will be 20 in a few months I’m happy to see you in good spirits. You be strong out there on your own boy. You are a grown man now,” which went left when Marquise responded, “Didn’t think you knew how old I was u missed a few birthdays. I’m happy to see you have kind words to say to me this time.”
In December 2018 the estranged relationship became worse when 50 Cent made headlines stating, he wouldn’t have a bad day if his son got hit by a bus. He eventually toned the message down with another post stating, “I have zero ill will towards anyone living on this Earth.”
“The people Shaniqua’s (50’s baby mother) son looks up to and associates with is a reflection of the negative energy he embraces towards me, “I paid his mother $1,360,000 in support to afford him the opportunities I never had. They just spent it, over the years I repeated ‘get a job’, now they have to figure it out.”
Marquise Jackson is 50 Cent’s eldest son. 50 Cent also has a 7-year-old son with model, Daphne Joy.
With the release of his new book Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter, the topic has continued to come up during his coronavirus “press tour,” and 50’s being the good troll that he is.
Just last month, 50 Cent told his Instagram Live viewers that he preferred the jailed 6ix9ine, who turned witness on the case that he’s in jail for, over his own son Marquise. Marquise responded, calling his father “stupid” on his own social media channels.
“Nah, I ain’t heard from 69. He’s his mother’s child now. He told on everybody,” 50 Cent told his followers. 50 Cent also made it clear that, if things came down to it, he would pick Tekashi over his eldest son, Marquise. “He better than Marquise, though. I’ll take him before I take my actual biological son,” 50 Cent stated while laughing out loud.
In an interview with XXL’s Van Lathan, 50 Cent was asked by the host if he loved his son – to which he replied that he “used to.” 50 continued, “I didn’t think that success would cost me my firstborn but it’s the situation it is. Like, my grandfather used to say, ‘If it rattles like a snake and slithers like a snake, is it a snake or do you need to be bit?'”
50 Cent continued in the interview, “It’s a sad situation. When you pray for success, you don’t necessarily pray for the things that come with it. It’s no such thing as success without jealousy without envy or entitlement.”
