A List Of All Celebrities Who Have Tested Positive For Coronavirus (COVID-19)


Well, it seems as if this Coronavirus is spreading even among the rich and famous, so you know it’s a wrap for the rest of us.

The ramifications of COVID-19 are starting to impact Americans across the board, finally. With the delayed response to the growing outbreak — now officially an pandemic, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), Americans at home and abroad are scrambling to come up with an adequate response.

The first line of defense has seemed to be canceling large events in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus amongst the population — though some 150 million Americans are expected to be infected by the time this is all over, according to a government official.

The NBA has canceled the rest of its season indefinitely, Coachella is postponed, SXSW was canceled — and even universities are canceling classes, preferring students to work from home. Hollywood studios are also canceling planned tentpole releases, some for a whole year — including the next movie in the Fast & Furious franchise, the next James Bond movie and more.

Here’s a list of all the celebrities and otherwise that have contracted Coronavirus:

Idris Elba

Actor Idris Elba just reported via his Twitter that he’s tested positive for COVID-19. Elba said that he found out someone he came into contact with last Friday tested positive. He claims to have immediately self-quarantined and just received his results today (Mar. 16).

Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant is one of four Brooklyn Nets players who have now tested positive for the coronavirus, according to ESPN.

At the moment, the Nets have not named the other players who have tested positive. Durant spoke with The Athletic, “Everyone be careful, take care of yourself and quarantine, We’re going to get through this.” Durant also reassured fans he’s currently feeling fine and is not currently showing any symptoms.

Tom Hanks

Actor Tom Hanks has contracted the Coronavirus, alongside his wife, actress Rita Wilson.

Tom informed the world via an Instagram post that him and his wife had been feeling ill, got tested and have confirmed positive results indicating they are infected.

“To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive,” Tom said in the post.

Tom’s son Chet also confirmed his parent’s diagnosis via his own Instagram as well.

Rudy Gobert

NBA player Rudy Gobert was the first NBA player to contract the Coronavirus.

Gobert plays center for the Utah Jazz, and it was his case that abruptly caused the NBA to cancel the Jazz/Thunder game this week — and suspend the whole season indefinitely.

Just a few days ago, Gobert made headlines for joking about the pandemic — by touching every reporter’s microphones. Now, he’s Patient Zero for the NBA.

Donovan Mitchell

NBA player Donovan Mitchell has also contracted the Coronavirus.

Mitchell plays guard for the Utah Jazz and is one of the other players that was announced to have contracted the disease.

He shared an update on his Instagram, encouraging people to “behave responsibly” during this pandemic.

Sophie Grégoire Trudeau

The First Lady of Canada, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau has been reported to have been infected. She’s currently self-isolated with her family, including her husband Justin Trudeau — who hasn’t been tested for the disease yet, but is voluntarily staying home.

Fernando Gaviria

Cycling star Fernando Gaviria has also reported that he’s been infected with the rapidly spreading disease.

It’s believed he contracted COVID-19 after a February 2020 UAE Tour race in the United Arab Emirates. He checked in via his Instagram to let his fans know that he was fine in isolation.
