Could it be? Is it possible? Could rapper/singer Azealia Banks have had a change of heart and hopped on the positivity train? Social media got an exceedingly rare sighting of the rapper practicing something that is not usually linked to her: love for others.
Last week the “212” artist shared news of her engagement to conceptual artist and graphic designer Ryder Ripps to her social media followers. “I just got engaged, k***s,” she said to her followers under a photo of her engagement ring. The ring choice that Ripps gave Banks was rather unconventional, opting for a gold ring that bore a menorah, a Jewish religious symbol, instead of a diamond. “I’m Jewish now. MAZEL TOV B*****S! WE IN HERE…. YERRRRRRR,” she added.
But just as quickly as her happiness was shared, she told her followers that the engagement had been called off. In a since-deleted post, Banks declared that Ripps was “too insecure for the wildly creative she-wolf” in her, thusly stating that the relationship has ended.

Unsure if things have been worked out or not, she has uploaded a “Love List” to her Instagram that shows a list of the names of people that Azealia holds near and dear to her heart. Banks gives the glory to Ryder Ripps who she claims said, “I need to practice not being such a hater so I made a list of people I love.”
Ripps is included on her list. Also seen on Azealia’s list are names like Donald Trump, Candace Owens, DMX, Chaka Khan, and Lil’ Kim (whom she emphasizes with a big heart). But the controversy magnet, who has a laundry list of artists that she has found herself in a constant state of bickering with, included a surprise addition to the list: Dave Chappelle.
Perhaps the two have shared a moment of forgiveness behind the scenes, because Banks opened the door for drama between the two after breaking news that they had allegedly been involved romantically. Fans can recall the moment in May 2020 when hopped on to her Instagram stories to share that she had slept with some “very powerful men” and he had been one of them.
“It’s a lot of tea that I be wanting to spill on y’all Black [men], especially when y’all be seeing me getting attacked in the media and s**t, and y’all don’t come to my rescue and s**t like that,” she said before calling the comedian out by name. “Like, Dave Chappelle- I should ruin your marriage… I should tell the world that we f—d. …”
Banks didn’t stop there, as she proceeded to stress how good of a lover Chappelle, who has been married to his wife Elaine since 2001, is. “You got some good [expletive] she admits. “That was some good, strong, mandingo…and that [man’s] a legend- like, yes. Gimme that legend energy! I will snatch that right out!”
Chappelle seemingly confirmed Banks’s claims during his 8:46 special while discussing how he feels about Candace Owens. While claiming that he doesn’t know if a certain area of her body has a stench, the comedian said, “I imagine it does. If I ever find out, I’ll let you know for sure. I’ll tell like Azealia Banks. I’ll tell.”
