This pandemic has brought some highs and lows, ups and downs, and ins and outs. Thankfully there are those that have brought some form of entertainment to the world via social media. Some creatives developed challenges that went viral, and there was also the infamous Verzuz created by mega producers Swizz Beatz and Timbaland. And then, there were some that went Live on Instagram to produce some wild content. This includes rapper Boosie Badazz.
Boosie Badazz, formerly Lil’ Boosie, took 2020 to showcase his wild side outside of music by coming on social media to entertain his followers with racy content, as per his request on some occasions. In some cases, the rapper would offer cash for participants (read: ladies) to show their private parts.
Boosie’s initial offer was $1000 for the content. However, some ladies who participated would begin to see their Cashapps rewarded with only $25 to $50. That wasn’t the case for at least one person, who’s boyfriend came to Twitter to announce that she had been compensated $1000 to her Cashapp, however seemingly didn’t know what for. “I’m so thankful that this guy randomly sent my girlfriend $1000 on Cashapp,” wrote the user, who also confirm receipt of the payment with a snapshot of the deposit.
The Lives would become extremely popular as his fans, and others who may not even follow him would await the clarion call to join in on the fun. The content, however, would have consequences for the rapper when his account had been deleted. The action incensed the “Wipe Me Down” rapper and he took to Twitter to post a video addressing Mark Zuckerberg, or as Boosie calls him “Mark Zuckerburger”.
“They just took my Instagram,” the rapper said in the clip. “Mark Zuckerburger I need to talk to you. I don’t know what I did, but I need my Instagram back. I don’t even know what I did. This is how I feed my family. Mark, do not do this to 2020. Do not take Boosie off Instagram. We need to talk, Mark. You need to take me to orientation or something, but you can’t put me out of school.”
He continued, “This is how I feed my family. We ain’t making no show money Mark Zuckerburger, none of the rappers. I need my Instagram back! Mark, I need my Instagram back. Mark Zuckerburger. I told everybody, ‘Call Mark Zuckerburger. At him right now. Tell him call my sister. We need to talk.’ I need my Instagram! I got people’s money I gotta post.”
Although his antics cost him his page, he’s since been reinstated to the platform, but not with some restrictions. The rapper hasn’t let go of his beef with Zuckerberg, as he plans to move forward with legal action towards the CEO due to the ban. “He made some of my business ventures go down, so I’m suing him now,” he announced to VladTV in December. “I’m filing a lawsuit against him now. He stopped me off Instagram and he didn’t put me back on Instagram. And it’s affecting my business. And I got over 200,000 people writing statements that have done way worser things that I have put on my Instagram… Their Instagram has been taken back and given [back] to them over and over.”
His troubles with social media, although still able to be on the platform, aren’t over as now he’s discovered that he’s no longer able to go live. “IG JUST BLOCKED ME FROM GOING LIVE N I AINT EVEN DONE S**T,” he wrote. In a subsequent tweet, he addressed anyone who had issues with his hustler spirit and attempts to continue to make money on the platform. “LISTEN FOR ALL YOU HATERS THINKIN YALL GO STOP BOOSIE N 2021 YALL GO BE LOOKING STUPID [AF] AT CHRISTMAS TIME,” wrote Boosie.
Meanwhile, as he handles his strenuous relationship with Instagram, it seems as though Boosie Badazz is slowly creeping back to his ways. For his next act, the rapper has proposed a challenge that has spurned from feeling himself thanks to a recent pedicure. In a video, the rapper is heard saying “She says I have pretty feet. Who wanna lick my toes?”, as he zooms in on his feet. He then made an offer in his Instagram Stories to his followers. “I got a thousand if you suck every toe,” he said.
