Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have suffered an undoubtedly tragic loss and a time for grieving has now been trampled on by Internet trolls. The grieving mother shared a photo on her Instagram to announce the unfortunate news and many are deeming the “photo op” inappropriate.
The “Lip Sync Battle” host and her Grammy Award-winning husband are parents to two children, Luna and Miles. It was reported that her first two pregnancies were made possible through IVF treatment. However, this pregnancy occurred naturally, a feat Chrissy says she “didn’t think was possible for her.”
Teigen had been placed on mandatory bed rest, and ultimately was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles because the bleeding she had been experiencing through the later stages of her pregnancy had gotten worse. She shared an update a few days ago to Twitter that she had a huge blood clot that threatened to take the baby’s life. “Just had a really scary morning,” she stated. “Huge clot, almost save-worthy. The scramble to hear the heartbeat seemed like hours. I never thought I’d relief sigh so much in my liiiiife.

Unfortunately, their efforts to remedy the situation for a successful delivery were futile as it was reported in the late hours of Wednesday night that Teigen and Legend loss their third child. Teigen shared the news on social media with a lengthy post, and photos that captured the anguish of it all, that stated amidst the blood transfusions, “it just wasn’t enough.”
The model also revealed the couple named their baby boy, Jack, stating, “Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever. To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.
Teigen’s post and photos were met with many emotional and sympathetic responses, filled with well wishes and support for the couple, and led some parents to share their photos after losing their children. However, many also felt the opposite, as they began to criticize their choice for releasing pictures depicting their grief at such a time. “What bothers me is she had pictures taken got paid to do it,” someone said, and another shared “Why post such personal information on this or any other public platform?”
Some, however, have taken their opinions and trolling to another level, by rejoicing in the news and sharing some very hateful messages directed toward the couple. Comments such as “That’s karma for you” and “God’s revenge” began to plaster all over her Instagram and Twitter accounts by some users.
Teigen isn’t new to trolls, seeing as the 34-year-old model is a frequent target on the receiving end of their antics. Before this news, she described trolls as “little thieves of joy” and admitted to blocking over a million of them. “So many of you are little thieves or [sic] joy,” she said. “You police what makes people happy until they don’t wanna share anymore. you do it to me and I should be happy and successful enough to not have it bother me and it does. imagine what you do to anyone else. that is super sad. honestly I’ll take it if it stops you from doing it to someone not as happy. because that is crazy sad to do to someone.”
