Super producer and hip-hop mogul Dr. Dre had the entire industry on edge after news broke that the beloved West Coast legend had suffered a brain aneurysm. While many of his fans and collaborators flooded the internet with posts in support and praying for his recovery, it seems not everyone was too eager for him to pull through. Comedian Luenell recently spoke on his health scare, and how his history of allegations was cause for some to hope that he wouldn’t make it through the ordeal.
Speaking with VladTV, Luenell stated “Now, one would say, does Dre get a pass for being such a notorious woman beater ’cause he makes good music? One would say,” she continued “One would say that some people ain’t gonna be praying for Dr. Dre. A lot of women, but you can get a pass, it seems, if you’re popular. He a notorious woman beater. I love Dr. Dre’s music, don’t get it f—d up, and I don’t want to see any of our icons die.”
“His track record sucks” she told the popular gossip network. “some of the charges his wife was making was even that he had been violent with her.”
She’s of course referring to Nicole Young, Dre’s wife of over 20 years. The pair recently divorced and have been enthralled in a very public dispute over spousal support following their split. Young filed for divorce on June 29, 2020 citing irreconcilable differences. They share 2 children, son Truice and daughter Truly. Young was recently awarded $2 Million dollars in spousal support, a deal the couple struck just days after the 55 years old was rushed to the hospital.
Dre posted a photo on January 5th to his over 5 million followers, assuring them that he was ok, in better health and already back to work. The black and white photo picture showed him back at the studio. “Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”
