When it was reported that Mariah Carey was releasing a tell-all memoir, heads immediately started to salivate. Mariah Carey has been a fixture in the music business for over 30 years now and has been celebrating the 30th anniversary of her self-titled album along with announcing her memoirs. It turns out one of her flings is indeed nervous and has reason to be.
Mariah’s self-titled debut album was released on June 12, 1990 and her star power has remained since then. Firmly entrenched in music history, Mariah’s legacy is undeniable. She’s celebrating her long career on social media with a special retrospective, calling it “#MC30 Fridays,” in which she shares stories, footage, new music and more.
Her memoir, titled The Meaning of Mariah Carey, is set to be released on September 29th, and the diva celebrated her completion of it with her fans on social media as well. She told her fans aka “Lambs” that the book discusses “my mishaps, my struggles, my survival and my songs. Unfiltered.” Anticipation is high for the book, which will be released through Andy Cohen of Bravo fame’s book imprint.
While fans and the publishing world await the blockbuster sales the memoir is sure to bring, it seems as if one of Mariah’s old nemeses isn’t as excited – Eminem.
Starting in 2002, the two began an epic back and forth over wax and in the press. Eminem’s mentioned Mariah and their brief dalliance in his records “Superman,” “When the Music Stops,” “Bagpipes from Bagdad,” “The Warning,” and more. Mariah’s addressed him in her songs “Clown” and “Obsessed,” and now Eminem’s afraid she’ll talk about it in her memoirs as well.
Us Weekly reported that an Eminem insider shared that the 8 Mile rapper is “expecting” to hear about their beef in Mariah’s upcoming book. “Eminem’s Achilles heel has always been Mariah Carey. They had a very toxic relationship. He knows that Mariah is going to say very negative things about him. He is expecting the onslaught, and almost welcomes it.”
Eminem apparently is worried that Mariah will talk about a few things that he’s sensitive about, including the details of their romantic encounter. “Marshall is stressed out that Mariah is going to say s–t that he was bad in bed or a selfish lover because he has always been very insecure about that,” the insider said.
Well, it turns out that one of Mariah’s best friends is spilling some advance tea before the book comes out and it appears to be exactly what Eminem was worried about would be told. Rapper Da Brat, who is a co-host on Dish Nation, spoke up about her friend Carey’s upcoming memoir and confirmed Eminem’s worse fears.
“He was never in bed with her. Let’s get this clear,” said Da Brat. “When y’all read, y’all will see that he [explicit] when they had all of their clothes on because he was excited that he was with Mariah. There was no sex.”
Da Brat both confirmed that the book will discuss Carey’s and Eminem’s relationship in some way and that is sure to send Eminem’s stress level into the roof after he hears of these latest allegations by Da Brat.
