Deb Antney Mistaken Safaree Of Being Gay, Assumed He & Nicki Minaj Were Only Friends

Much attention has been given to the tumultuous breakup of Safaree and Erica Mena in the past few months.

Safaree, the Brooklyn, New York rapper, perhaps best known for his ties to Nicki Minaj – both artistic and romantic – announced his desire to exit his marriage to Mena in dramatic fashion.

He first wrote on Twitter last November, “I mean this from the bottom of my heart getting married was 1 of my BIGGEST mistakes and it will never happen again. I’m walking away before I End up in jail over some dumb shit. Nobody is worth my freedom!!!”

Mena responded, “Since you always run to social media like a little girl I might as well join in. I absolutely agree with you on this. You are the most selfish, vain and inconsiderate person. And not just with me but your only daughter!”

She continued, “Out of RESPECT for my daughter and to honor my growth as a woman. I’m going to get back to doing what I do best. Make money and be only about my business. Entertaining social media with my issues isn’t my thing.”

Mena capped her retort with, “Don’t let this Scorpio sting.”

In a recent guest appearance on the Drink Champs show, former manager of Nicki Minaj, Deb Antney shared some of her initial thoughts Safaree. “And the craziest sh*t is – I know I shouldn’t really say this but, bless my heart – I never knew that her and Safaree was going together,” she stated. Antney continued, “Yeah, I thought Safaree was a gay guy…that she hung out with…and he was her helper. She never showed…Listen, when I was booking her out, she was like ‘Deb, I need two rooms’ but the two rooms wasn’t for him because she would get dressed in the other room…I never knew that they went together. I never knew until he took my car from her and she called me to block him up and he called me and that’s when he broke down everything. He broke down everything that they was together for the year – I didn’t know…She never, that was one thing about her, she never gave any inkling that anything was going on with them…like the way she was…I just thought he was – God forgive me – you know, I thought he was just a gay guy that was helping her. And he was her hype guy or something…I just never knew anything. And he put his career back for her and he told me that- that they put everything into her…”

Others, who’ve watched the inception of the Safaree-Erica Mena relationship begin on the VH1 reality show, “Scared Famous” in 2017, have taken a cooler reaction. One Twitter user wrote, “Safaree & Erica Mena break up every quarter, and then get back together with an onlyfans link. Please leave us out of it.”

Tariq Nasheed wrote, “With Safaree and Erica Mena “beefing” on social media, that means they are manufacturing the storyline for the new season of Love and Hip-Hop…. And Mona Young Scott is somewhere doing the Birdman Hand Rub.”
