Diddy, 51 Announced His ‘Legal Name’ Has Been Changed In Court, Causing Fans To Question His Safety After Producer’s Address Is Shared On Drivers License

Sean Combs has gone by many names over the years. The multi hyphen mogul has about as many names and he has businesses. The 51 year old recently took to his social media to unveil his latest incarnation, one he’s been using for a while but is now official and a possible sign of things to come from Combs whose recently been criticized yet again for his treatment of past artists in the wake of Black Rob’s passing.

Born Sean John Combs on November 4, 1969, he first rose to prominence under the name Puff Daddy. During his freshman run he was able to break such acts as Usher, Mary J Blige and the Notorious B.I.G before himself becoming a successful rapper. The passing of B.I.G thrusted Combs further into the spotlight as now he was the focal point of Bad Boy Records. His debut album, No Way Out, was released on July 1, 1997.

Like their hit record stated, “More Money More Problems” became the norm for Combs, who by 2001 was involved in a heated legal battle over weapons charges. Despite being cleared on his charges, Bad Boy Records protege Shyne was not so luck and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Combs also lost girlfriend Jennifer Lopez to the drama, and needed a change of name to signify a fresh state.

P. Diddy was a nickname given to him by Notorious B.I.G and became his new name. Under P. Diddy, Combs moved forward rebuilding his Bad Boy Roster and going into new ventures. Around this time he introduced the world to acts like Black Rob, Da Band and Dream.

By the mid 00’s, Combs was ready for yet another change of name. The mogul’s brand was consistently shifting, especially musical style which was becoming more influenced by mainstream pop and dance music. Decided to drop the P and simply be Diddy, he felt it was a little less confusing for fans. As Diddy he released “Press Play”, took over the Making the Band franchise, and broke acts like Danity Kane, Cassie and Loon. Around this time people began to talk about the “Bad Boy Curse”, saying that acts associated with the iconic label always end up on the ousts with bad business and bad contracts to blame. Mase famously tried to get out of his deal around this time but could not.

It seems the drama of recent years has shifted Combs into yet his latest incarnation. After the loss of baby mother and life partner Kim Porter, Combs has been going around calling himself Love. He’s officially adopted the name, posting a problematic picture of his driver license to show off the change. The change could not come at a better time, as people are once again accusing the mogul of bad business after Black Rob died broke and homeless.

“Look what I just got in the mail today… 🖤💫✨⚡️IT’S OFFICIAL!!! WELCOME TO THE LOVE ERA.” he captioned the picture. While many fans celebrated, some were concerned about him posting his drivers licenses without blocking out the address. “Bro. They gonna use your license for fraud. This is confidential,” one user stated. While others stated, “you just going to put your whole addy out??”
