Is reality star Apryl Jones just what the doctor ordered? She hopped between two members of the same boy band and started this year with fresh headlines of a rumored much-upgraded relationship with a billionaire. Are the rumors true? that she and Dr. Dre are an item? She might have confirmed it in a recent post to social media, which has reignited the rumors once again.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Dr. Dre found some love during what looked to be a hopeless time. He has been going through a tumultuous divorce battle with his ex-wife, Nicole Young, which could majorly cost him his fortune. Within that time, he was also admitted to Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles after a brain aneurysm nearly took his life.
Following his release from Cedars Sinai, he was spotted at a BOA Steakhouse in Los Angeles with none other than Apryl Jones, former lover to Omarion and Lil’ Fizz. The pairing was not confirmed by either party, but the fuel was added to the rumor fire when fellow Love and Hip Hop castmate Moniece Slaughter seemed to have spilled the beans on their relationship.
“To the person that asked me if Apryl and Dre are together, yes they are. And it’s been a while that they’ve been together,” Moniece said in an Instagram Live. “It’s been a while, it’s not new. I’ve known for a while. I was shocked just because of her public announcement that she’s polyamorous and that she has been with this one, this one, this one, that one, that one, that one. And she was on the internet patting her [expletive], so I was shocked that someone so established and refined as Dre would almost wife her.”
Following the breaking of that news, Slaughter shared that she had allegedly begun to receive threats from Dr. Dre’s camp or a representative of the Aftermath CEO for speaking on their business. Known to never bite her tongue, Moniece took to social media to expose Dre for the happenings.
She then interviewed with Jason Lee and Hollywood Unlocked where she detailed the alleged threatening phone calls as the person on the phone began to detail her house’s layout, all due to her mentioning Dre and Apryl on her live. “Then he goes onto say that, ‘You know, Dre wanted me to tell you to keep his name out your mouth,’” she explains. “I said, ‘I didn’t say anything negative about him. Yeah, I threw a little shade at her but I didn’t say anything negative about her, either.”
A few months ago, Apryl interviewed with Madamenoire where she revealed that she was dating, but did not mention any names. Many, however, still assumed that she was referring to Dr. Dre. “I am dating. And…I’m not looking for anything,” said Jones. “Imma say [that] I’m not looking. I just feel like…I am dating and I’m open and I feel like what I am hoping to experience is just a great exchange of energy with somebody that feels different and I’ll know it when I feel it.”
She added, “But that’s just where I’m at with it. I’m not looking for anything. I don’t have a particular type. I’m just enjoying life and exchanging energy and enjoying [their] company. And that’s it. And when I need what I need when I need it, I get what I need when I need it! Keep it pushin’. That’s where I’m at.”
It has been quiet on the rumor front for the two of them, but a recent posting from Apyrl has set the Internet off once again. Jones posted a slide of photos showing her poolside by a palatial-looking mansion. She captioned it “Night swim on dat a** 🍑 oh and cause he told me to post it.”
The “he”, many are feeling is Dr. Dre, especially upon viewing the mansion in the photo. A lot of folks got into her comments and mentioned Dr. Dre, saying things like Dr dre house is nice asf,” and “At Dr. Dre crib I know that’s right!”
Unfortunately, Lil’ Fizz caught some as well with comments like “Fizz somewhere punching the air,” and “From Lil Fizz to Dr Dre….I would post it too. LOL.”
