“I Actually Hate You”: Dwight Howard’s 12-Year-Old Son Sends Another Heartbreaking Message, Father Responds Saying He’d Rather Not Say Why Son Made Comments

Being the child of a personality or influencer of some sort in this world we live in can take just as much toll on them as it does their parents. The older these children get, the more vocal they are about their own lives – with social media making it even easier than before. One of Dwight Howard’s sons has been doing just that, and his dad has spoken up.

Perhaps NBA baller Howard can get some advice from singer Lauryn Hill, whose been dealing with the same issues with one of her children. Lauryn Hill’s daughter Selah Marley took to the Internet to share some thoughts on her superstar mother and famous family father. The now 22-year old is coming into her own as an adult and has taken to reminiscing about her life.

Selah’s father, Rohan Marley, is indeed one of the sons of musical legend Bob Marley. Having met Lauryn Hill in 1996, the pair had 5 children together despite the fact that they largely lived apart most of their relationship. Selah is the second born of the five and though her parents relationship finally came to an end in 2009, it seems as if her father’s been largely absent, according to her.

Selah, amongst other things, called Hill a “MF” in the video, alluding to the fact that their relationship and her mother’s actions over the years are the reason that she was traumatized as a child. She also shared that her mother and father “hated” each other and how Selah told her mother once that she should have “aborted” her.

Throughout the video, Selah also seems to long after her father repeatedly while blaming him for not being there. Hill and Marley’s relationship is famous for being largely apart and now we’re seeing the fallout from one of their oldest children and how it has affected them as adults.

It’s heartbreaking to see the same cycle repeated on social media once again, with another celebrity child. Dwight Howard’s 12-year-old son took to the Internet to air similar grievances about his own superstar father – part of the Los Angeles Lakers, which just won the 2020 NBA Championships.

Within the past week, 2 of Howard’s mothers of children have taken to social media to call out the NBA’s star’s apparent refusal to see their individual children, with both alleging Howard’s inability to communicate with his respective children, ignore them and accusing him of neglect. However, Braylon Howard speaking out against his father in recent days really drove their message home.

“As of right now, I hate you. And I’m not saying this because someone told me to. I actually hate you. You don’t talk to me at all. Once Laylah gets as old as me, she’s going to feel the same way. We made you a Roadblocks account so you could play with us when you were in Atlanta and we’re here. Do you ever play on it? No. You don’t eve play with us. The only time you play with us is when we’re with you and that’s rarely when we’re with you. Every time we go to the house, we’re always be Momma V. All of our parents have said we don’t need a nanny.”

For his part in all this, Howard responded during a call-in on an Atlanta radio show. He defends his own actions while also not necessarily revealing why his children’s mothers both seemingly had had enough of him this week.

Howard also claims that his time has been limited because of the passing of another of his child’s mothers, which caused him to have to make unexpected adjustments that have contributed to his absences — in addition to being on social media celebrating and partying with his Lakers teammates and new fiancee, WNBA star Te’a Cooper.
