Rapper Eminem Calls Out Snoop Dogg After Labeling Him ‘The Great White Hope’ and Leaving Him Out His Top 10, In New Song ‘Zeus’

Snoop Dogg and Eminem seemed to have been in a cold war of sorts and now, it’s gone thermonuclear as the legendary rapper has released a new verse that takes aim at the Doggfather. While Snoop’s previously been on the offensive, now we’re waiting to see if he’s really going to shake the table and go after Eminem.

Snoop got into trouble earlier this year with regards to mentioning Eminem. He sat down with The Breakfast Club and a discussion around hip-hop music and who Snoop had on his list of the “greats,” before the discussion veered into Eminem and Snoop’s opinion of his music.

“Eminem, the great white hope. White rappers had zero respect in rap,” Snoop said. “The game feels like he’s a top ten lyricist but that’s just because he’s with Dr. Dre and Dr. Dre helped him find the best Eminem that he could find,” said Snoop, further elaborating upon his point.

“There’s just some n—as in the 80s that he can’t f— with,” parried Snoop. “Like Rakim, like Big Daddy Kane, like KRS-One, like LL Cool J… Shall I go on? Like Ice Cube. You understand me? I don’t got no time to play with it, it is what it is. Cuz did that. He did that to the fullest. That’s one of my teammates, one of my brothers. He did that. “But when you’re talking about this hip-hop that I can’t live without…”

He then tried to clean up his comments and make amends with his fellow legend, sharing a picture of the two performing together previously and reiterated that there was nothing but love between them.

“Slim shady wit silky slim,” wrote Snoop on the picture, in which he’s dapping Eminem up on a stage. “Gang gang.”

Maybe it was missed money causing Snoop to lash out?

50 Cent told radio DJ Big Boy on his Big Boy’s The Neighborhood morning show that at he once tried to put together a super-tour featuring the heavyweights of hip-hop like himself, Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. The tour never happened, and 50 blamed it on Eminem.

“You do not believe how much money we would’ve made. And Em was like—there was so many dates at the time that we laid it out—that he was like, ‘I just don’t want to go on tour and come back and Hailie’s grown.'”

While we may not know for sure if Snoop had ill intentions when he originally made his comments about Eminem, we’ve seemed to move past that point – as Eminem has told Snoop exactly what he thinks of him and his comments in his latest song “Zeus.”

“And, as far as squashin’ beef, I’m used to people knockin’ me / But, just not in my camp, I’m diplomatic ’cause I’m tryna be / Last thing I need is Snoop doggin’ me / Man, dog, you was like a damn god to me / Man, not really / I had “dog” backwards.”

Seems like Eminem has spoken, and Snoop has 24 hours to respond. Hear the song from Eminem’s new release out today below.
