Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels have been struggling through a messy break-up. The reality television stars seemed like an ideal match. However it appears the only thing perfect about them is the good tv they make. Their break-up is currently playing out on the latest season of Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta. While fans of the show catch up with the couple and what broke them up, in real time Eric Mena is nursing her and Safaree’s newest baby while daddy was spotted out partying.
Erica and Safaree were both previously linked to famous rappers. Samuels famously dated Nicki Minaj in secret for years before their split. Erica has been connected with Bow Wow.
The two became an item in 2018. They quickly went public, with a wedding and baby announcement following shortly after. The couple welcomed the child right before the wedding, and seemed incredibly happy at the time. “Wow, wow, it’s a big deal! Very big deal. I didn’t know I was capable of doing this. I’m excited!” said Safaree in an instagram post during Mena’s pregnancy.

Rumors of a break-up began this past fall as the couple began making posts separately, alluding to them being single. They also began removing pictures of each other from their social media and unfollowed one another. In a photo of him posing in front of a car last November, Safaree captioned it “BACHELOR!! Ending 2020 right!!” before later changing the caption. More telling was that he had tagged the show Divorce Court in the image. Erica responded “No cocky $hit, ain’t too many like me. No man could ever stop me!!!!!!!” in an also deleted post.

Despite their nasty exchanges on social media, the couple did welcome a child at the end of June. Their second baby together named Legend Brian Samuels. While Safaree posted pictures of him and the newborn around the time of his birth, a post from Erica today reveals that she is still in the hospital with baby Legend. In the post she said “So far five out of the ten days I felt lost. I’m feeling guilty, confused and scared.” She continued “This journey I’m on, feels long. It has been tough. I’m taking steps forward, and I’m taking some back.I have good days, and I’m preparing for the bad ones.”
While its unclear why she is still in the hospital, some fans have noted that Safaree has been out partying. The Shade Room posted a video of him in Jamaica celebrating his birthday around the same time Erica posted from the hospital.
