Saweetie’s relationship woes played out for the world to see in these last few weeks as her relationship with Quavo dissolved very publicly. The former hip-hop power couple are now separated, and the twitter world and blogs have been pretty busy trying to dissect what happened. Several celebrities also came forward with their opinions on the matter.
Saweetie let fans know it was a dub via her twitter back in February, informing them that she’d sent Quavo “back to the streets”.
“I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character.” She elaborated“I emotionally checked out a long time ago and have walked away with a deep sense of peace and freedom. Excited for this new chapter of elevation.”
Quavo responded with his own tweet saying “I had love for you and disappointed you did all that. You are not the woman I thought you were. I wish you nothing but the best.”
Some speculated that the split was due to Saweetie appearing on an episode of “Respectfully Justin” with ex boyfriend Justin Combs. During the episode she discussed liars and cheats. It was rumored that Quavo found her appearance disrespectful.
Whatever the case was, the two called it quits and soon after a video surfaced of the two fighting on an elevator. The year old video was confirmed to not be the cause of their breakup but certainly did paint the pair in the best light. Some sided with Saweetie who was clearly injured in the fight while others sided with Quavo feeling that the video conveniently to make him look back was Saweetie’s doing.
Those not in favor of Saweetie have started coming forward with their opinions. Last week dating guru Kevin Samuels rated her a six saying she’s “an adjustable six, meaning she could go from cute to pretty.” He went on “I look at you fresh-faced, no makeup, your natural state and if you have ever seen her pictures, fresh-faced, natural state, she’s a cute woman who can be pretty,” he said. “But I don’t think she’s ever gonna be considered to be beautiful or gorgeous. That does not mean she’s bad…”
Crunchy Black of Three 6 Mafia is the latest to weigh in on her and Quavo’s split. Speaking with Vlad TV he talked about Quavo reportedly having Saweetie’s Bentley repossessed after the breakup.
“‘Cause he was smart enough to not cash out on that car. Do that lease sh*t. You know what I’m saying? So, he was smart to lease that car so he was able to send them over there and tell a b*tch, ‘Give my car back,'” Black continued. “And Saweetie, she—that’s a…she’s a typical b*tch. She’s a typical b*tch. Hoes always, and that’s the reason why, this part of this interview, I’m finna go in on these b*tches. Hoes always tryin’ to get somethin’ for nothin’.
