The life of Lamar Odom is a no doubt troubled one. The one time NBA star’s life lately has been riddled with substance abuse, financial adversities, break-ups to make-ups, and more drama. Sounds like a page out of a reality show scenario, sort of like Love And Hip Hop, yeah? Odom is currently embroiled in a contentious child support battle with his ex-girlfriend, and a new woman has come to social media to air out some more of the troubled star’s woes.
Recently Odom was led to defend himself against ex-girlfriend Liza Morales, who is also a cast member of VH1’s Basketball Wives, after news reports revealed that a judge reprimanded the former Lakers star during a virtual hearing. Odom and Morales are the parents of two children, ages 23 and 19, and the heat escalated when she claimed that he has been violating their agreement due to nonpayment of child support since June of 2020.
Morales and her lawyers claim that the former husband to Khloe Kardashian owes her close to $100,000 in back child support and the lack of payment also has threatened to make her and their children homeless. Odom took to social media and stated that he does not see nor feel the need to fulfill the obligations any longer as his children are now fully grown, and he will not provide for a “grown a** woman”, as we reported before.
“The news, the media, the public loves to vilify a man, call him deadbeat, say how terrible he is as a man but what about a woman who refuses to get off her a** and make a living for herself,” he writes under a screenshot of a news tabloid news headline. “She is just as responsible for taking care of our now ADULT children as I was so why isn’t she held to the same standard?”
Odom added, “Am I working? YES. Am I building a solid brand? YES. Do I send my kids money monthly ? Hell yes!
Do I support Liza? No!!! And I shouldn’t be made to either.”
In the middle of all this, the former basketball player is fielding off rumors that he and Love and Hip Hop reality star Karlie Redd are dating. Although the Internet seems to believe that the two are hooking up after being seen in various pictures as well as the trailer for the upcoming Love and Hip-Hop season, Odom broadcasted to Wendy Williams that he is “happily single”.
Yet on Monday, a woman took to social media and blasted Odom with claims that he had been seemingly romantically involved with another woman who goes by @thegirlnamedfranki on Instagram. The unidentified woman also inserted Karlie Redd into the mix while alleging that Odom is “broke” and “homeless”, which would explain Morales’s claims in court.
Addressing Redd, the woman writes, “you could have gave my homegirl [Franki] a heads up […] LAMAR IS BROKE & LIVING house to house! NO CAR! NO LICENSE! NEGATIVE BANK ACCOUNTS!”
She adds, “N—a stop flexing like you that n—a and run my friend her bread!!! You had her sending your kids money and everything!!! F—ing Gigolo!!!! Don’t believe the HYPE!!!”
Lamar has not responded to the woman’s claims, but Franki shared a few subliminal memes to her Instagram Stories possibly addressing the rumors. “When you f****g with [an] independent woman any wrong move & they ready to leave you,” one slide was seen expressing her feelings. She then captions it “Why my a** still single. Ain’t no second chances.” A next slide reads, “I know the Devil be like ‘Damn, I can’t break this girl for nothing.”
This is not the first time that news has broken of a possible homeless situation for Lamar Odom. TMZ previously reported that Odom had been kicked out of a Calabassas rental that he shared with Khloe Kardashian and that he had reportedly been going from “house to house” in order to stay with friends.
However, sources revealed to E! News that the stories were all false and that Odom was not homeless. “He is doing well,” said a source, “He is determined to stay on the straight and narrow [path] and wants to be the best father he can possibly be and he is doing the work required to achieve that. It is not easy, but he is focused and determined.
