Super producer and mogul Dr. Dre, born Andre Young, is not having a great 2021 so far, and not for nothing the last few months have been tumultuous for the California native. Among all the drama surrounding his highly publicized and contentious divorce, he now has a major health scare on his hands to worry about, that have fans pulling for him in a massive way.
As previously reported, the Aftermath Entertainment CEO suffered a brain aneurysm on Monday that forced him into ICU at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Unsure of what caused the bleeding, doctors have been working hard to get Young back to his regular healthy state.
According to a report on stroke.org, most brain aneurysms are developed after age 40 and usually develop at branching points of arteries and are caused by constant pressure from blood flow. While it is unknown what causes an aneurysm to bleed or exactly when it will, causes for bleeding can include high blood pressure and strong emotions, such as being upset or angry, which can raise blood pressure and can subsequently cause aneurysms to rupture.
The hip-hop legend and Beats by Dre co-founder’s social media was soon graced with a statement to his family and friends, as well as fans and supporters to let everyone know that he is recovering and doing well. “Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes,” the caption read under a picture of Dr. Dre shot in his studio. “I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”
Celebrities of all walks of the entertainment industry flooded the mega-producer with well wishes from Lebron James to Ellen Degeneres. “Praying for you my Brother!!” wrote Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James, while Rapper 50 Cent also offered “Get well dre, stress kills relax.”
In a wild twist of events, it’s being reported that while Dr. Dre has been in the ICU recovering, his home became the target of an attempted burglary. Los Angeles police were alerted of a potential break-in at about 10pm Monday night, shortly after the announcement of his aneurysm. LAPD officers responded to a report of an attempted burglary in which suspects were seen “coming over a hill” near the 12700 block of Charon Road in the hills above Brentwood.
Apparently, it was believed by authorities that the suspects had been targeting the home of Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, until determining that the actual target was Dr. Dre. Officers spotted an SUV that was believed to be involved during a surveillance operation, and four suspects were apprehended after a brief pursuit. They were then taken into police custody in Pacific Palisades. A backpack full of burglary tools, saws and crowbars were found by investigators inside the vehicle belonging to the suspects.
