On today’s episode of “Funk Flex is craving attention again”, the legendary Hot97 disc jockey has set his sights on Jay-z.. yet again. For years the outspoken New York DJ has ignited feuds with many a rapper, and Hov hasn’t been blocked from his tirades. Now, Flex is making news again for once again making comments directed towards the rapper.
When it comes to Hip-Hop, there aren’t many, if any instances, when discussing the “greatest rappers of all time” that you would not hear Shawn Carter’s name brought up. The iconic rapper has shifted the Hip-Hop culture in more ways than one, but Flex doesn’t seem to care. As a matter of fact, while many (especially from New York City) would label Jay-Z the G.O.A.T., he begs to differ.
Funkmaster Flex was a recent guest on the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast, hosted by rapper Gillie Da King and social media influencer Wallo267, where the argument about the superstar rappers occurred. The conversation spiraled into a more heated discussion when Flex mentioned that he believes the Toronto rapper would have the G.O.A.T. label had it not been for the allegations of ghostwriting.
Quite funny to hear these words uttered from Funkmaster Flex, who has been vocal in the past with his disdain for the rapper on many occasions, especially during the ghostwriting scandal involving Meek Mill. Many would say that Flex was one of the main contributors instigating the allegations. Drake himself called out the DJ during a freestyle while at a Madison Square Garden show when he said, “You see, they tellin’ lies on Hot 97, that’s how it goes/I told ’em fire Funk Flex and then I’ll come and do your show,” on Summer Sixteen.
However, who’s to say that a tiger can’t change its stripes? Flex may seem to be doing so with his recent comments that seem to flip-flop from his previous statements about Drake. “If those reference tracks did not come out, Drake was the no. 1 rapper of all time,” he said. “He’s too versatile, his melodies, he has the bars, and he had the songs.”
That wasn’t all that the DJ, who recently had liposuction and broadcasted his experience via Instagram, had to say about Mr. Carter. He also came forward with claims that Jay is viewing Instagram through a burner account. Why? “Because he’s the most sensitive motherf*****r on the planet, and he can’t take n****s in his comments telling him the truth,” Flex insists. “Ok? He can’t take it. He can’t open up social media. You know what Jay does? He watches social media from a fake page.”
Flex’s comments then prompted one of the hosts to say that the only reason he is mad at Jay is due to him not being able to attend the infamous RocNation brunch, which drew many hilarious reactions from social media. Check out the clip below.
