Meghan Markle and Prince Harry seem to have come out of their Oprah interview on the right side of public opinion. Everyone is currently side-eyeing Buckingham Place, the Queen and Prince William after some disparaging accusations were made. Despite everyone jumping to the couples defense, including Tyler Perry, it seems people aren’t that keen to help them judging by a recent GoFundMe fail.
One of the standout confessions during the viral sit down was that Harry had been cut off financially from the Royal Family. “We didn’t have a plan. [The Netflix deal] was suggested by somebody else by the point of where my family literally cut me off financially, and I had to afford security for us. [They cut me off] In the first quarter of 2020. But I’ve got what my mum left me, and, without that, we would not have been able to do this.”
Harry is believed to have around £10million that was left to him by Princess Diana, as well as her priceless jewelry collection.
This combined with around £7million from the Queen Mother and other inheritances, Harry is believed to be worth around £36million.
Meghan had accumulated several million pounds from her successful TV career. The couple have also signed a lucrative deal with Netflix believed to be worth around £100million and with Spotify, worth around £30million.
Despite this the couple said they were struggling. Tyler Perry rushed in to help, allowing the new family to stay in his home in Malibu until they found their own place.
Anastasia Hanson, a neighbor in the couples area, decided to take things a step further and start a GoFundMe to help the couple finish paying off their new home.
“When they came to the USA, they were without jobs and with limited funds,” said Hanson, 56. “They’ve stated that they’ve had a very rough time, so this fundraiser is a way to give help, compassion, and love by paying their home loan in full.”
Hanson’s online fundraiser to try to help the royals was started a few days ago. It was shut down Saturday after just three donations, reported The SUn.
Hanson donated $5, while “A Supporter” gave $100 and “Anonymous” person bestowed $5 on the fund.
The page read, “I am Anastasia Hanson of Ventura, California and I am raising funds to pay off the mortgage for the Montecito, California home of Harry and Meghan.”
“Were 2 million supporters to donate just $5 each, the Goal is met and the loan can be paid off. After their interview, I was moved with compassion to help get their home paid off. As they are now financially independent, this will help and be a loving gift.”

The page now reads, “Campaign Not Found.’’
