Gucci Mane and his wife Keyshia Ka’oir Davis have much to celebrate! The Atlanta rapper announced recently that he and his wife have just welcomed their first child together over the holidays.
Instagram was blessed with the news when the “Wake Up In The Sky” rapper shared that his wife had just given birth to a new baby boy. “My wife just gave me a 7lb 1 oz baby boy,” said Gucci, real name Radric Davis. “His name ICE DAVIS 12/23/20 thank you MrsDavis… he’s here!!!!!!!” Keyshia also shared the same joy while also sharing a photo from her pregnancy shoot. “He’s here!!!!!!!!!! ICE DAVIS 12/23/20 7 lbs. #ThankYouLord,” she captioned her post. “OMG he is soooooo darn CUTE & PERFECT.”
This is the couple’s first child together, however, Keyshia has three children from a previous relationship, and Gucci also has a son prior to their marriage. Gucci mentions his son, Keitheon, who is also autistic, in his 2017 memoir The Autobiography of Gucci Mane. In it, he disclosed that he had no knowledge of his son until he was bout 10 months old.
“I know what you’re thinking. What son? Truth is I didn’t know him all that well either. I’d only learned I had a child a year before. He was already 10 months old,” he wrote. “A girl I used to see had a baby and people were saying it looked like me. I hadn’t even known she was pregnant. I reached out and asked her if it was mine. She was unsure. I took a blood test and sure enough, I was the father of the little boy.”
Over the years, Gucci and the mother to his child, Sheena Evans, had been embroiled in a legal battle surrounding child support. A report from The Blast stated Evans began to pursue an increase from the initial $2,026 per month that she had been receiving to $20,000. Evans claimed she had been struggling and living off of government assistance while the rapper lived a more extravagant lifestyle.
“Here we have a minor child whose father is a multi-millionaire—mom lives in Section 8 housing,” Evans’ attorney said during a court hearing. ”Mom is on government assistance. There is food stamps that have to be utilized. The child is on Medicaid.” They also stated that Gucci refused to pay her attorney fees, despite being ordered by the court to do so. Evans also brought up Mane’s $1.7 million wedding and its 10-part BET special surrounding the event.
In the end, the rapper and Evans reached a settlement. Gucci agreed to $10,000 per month in child support payments and will also cover transportation costs for her son. The rapper will also cut a six-figure check for back child support, while Evans remains with primary custody of Keitheon.
