Mike Tyson, with pictures of his re-emerging fitness already breaking the Internet, is demonstrating that his world-renown chin-checking isn’t just relegated to the boxing ring.
This weekend, on his podcast, Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson, “Iron Mike” hosted Baton Rogue rapper, Boosie Badazz in a one-on-one interview segment. Tyson, no stranger to conflict and controversy, pulled no punches in confronting Boosie about his commentary related to Dwayne Wade and his daughter, 12-year-old Zaya Wade.
In case you missed it, a few months back Lil’ Boosie gave his Instagram followers a fiery reaction to Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union’s public support of the their child to transition from Zion to Zaya. As he put it, “That is a male. A 12-year-old. At 12, they don’t even know what they next meal gon’ be. They don’t have it figured out yet. He might meet a woman, anything, at 16 and fall in love with her […] how he gon’… like, bruh, you going too far, dog.” Continuing, he stated, “Like bruh, if he gay, let him be gay. Like don’t address him as a woman, dog. He’s 12-years-old, dog. He’s — he’s not there yet. He hasn’t made his final decisions yet.
Mike pressed the rapper, “Why do you say things about people who might be a homosexual? Why do you say that about them? Do you feel there’s a possibility that you’re a homosexual […] If you’re straight then why do you offend people?”
Boosie responded, “I really commented on the Dwayne Wade situation because that’s a child. That’s really why I got offended.”
Kid Dynamite replied, “I agree with you, but check this out, who am I to say anything? What I think don’t mean a thing. Who tare we to make a comment about somebody’s life?”
Couple Boosie’s reasoning to his own child rearing tactics. The “Love Yo Family” rapper who adamantly boasted of hiring women to perform acts on the middle school-aged boys in his family. Speaking directly via Instagram Live, Boosie addressed the matter, “I’m training these boys right, I’m training these boys right Ask any of my nephews, ask any of them, ask my son.
Ummm, what, sir?
In what world is it okay to pay for your male children to engage with women? What qualities are you imparting to these future young men by patronizing adult workers and paying for it? It’s an odd combination to, by proxy, appoint oneself as a moral crusader and condemn LGTBQ+ issues, and use that same tongue to finance, sanction, and encourage what is essentially childhood abuse.
