The Game brand has become more known for his social media post then his music in recent years. The West Coast rapper has managed to keep his brand strong thanks to a strong social media presences powered by thirst traps, some trolling antics and the occasional outburst. Game took to his social media this week to vent about his kids not calling him for Father’s Day. The famous dad is very upset and plans to cut several kids off as a result.
Last May we reported on The Game and his beliefs on how a family dynamic should be. While guesting on an episode of Wendy Williams, he confessed to be a pretty bad partner to his ex’s. “I was a dog,” the rapper confessed. “I had infidelity issues, and I kind of blew it. It’s pretty much my fault. I had a good woman: school teacher, master’s degree, mother of my children… You don’t really get it when you’re in the relationship. Then you get out—and she kicks you to the curb—then you realize what a great woman you had.”
He confessed later on twitter to wanting to settle down and how he felt he should be the sole one at home providing. “Maybe I’m old school but my woman ain’t paying one damn bill,” stated Game. “Not rent, not mortgage, not a car note, not nails, hair, clothes, phone or groceries…. if you’re taking care of home, cooking & [expletive] outta me….. LIFE ON ME !!! Period.”
Looks like the same applies to his kids. While the Game is willing to provide the world to them, he has some stipulations. Major one is making sure to call him on Father’s Day.
“I know who I am as a father. Can’t nobody tell me that I’m not the type of father that deserves praise, deserves notice,” said The Game. “And I’m not saying go out and buy [me] a Lamborghini or nothing like that but to be post-Father‘s Day, to be on this video, making this video, and to really have nothing to show for it, it’s just unacceptable. It’s crazy […] So today is the day where, if you’re in my life and you’re close to me and I’ve done what I’ve done for you and I’ve taken care of you and looked after you for several years, and you know that you didn’t show up on Father’s Day with any type of appreciation, today is the day that I cut you off. It’s nothing personal but actions scream louder than words. I’m tired of the disrespect but I’ve gotta do something about it. And I hate to bring it to social media but there might be other fathers out there who feel unappreciated and might need to know that they’re not alone.”
