The conversation was a poignant one undoubtably for people of trans experience. Young Zaya has been made a spokesperson of sorts since coming out as trans last year. The daughter of NBA superstar Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, the family has been championed for their openness and transparency as they help and support their daughter through her transition. Many supported took to twitter to comment Zaya for her bravery, while others noted how happy and well adjusted the child seemed.
Zaya Wade is a star and I’m 1000% here for it!

Others have not been in full support however, with a lot of people pointing out that Zaya is too young to be making such drastic life decisions. Its important to note that she has not disclosed whether her transition has included any surgeries or hormone therapy, however people have assumed such and have been very vocal online about their disapproval.
One twitter user said “The Obama’s are some of the most twisted people out there. Michelle Obama elevated “Zaya Wade” (Dwayne & Gabriele’s) son (transitioned to a girl) by saying ” Zaya‘s a leading role models for teens. Its amazing how they’re quick to praise buffoonery.”
Another noted “While I’m all for Zaya Wade being who she wants to be, why take away from actual women (young women) during women’s history month & make her a role model??”

B2K member J-Boog decided to weigh in on the interview in the comments section of Hollywood Unlocked. In a post about the interview, captioned “Michelle Obama praises Zaya Wade”, J-Boog unloaded on what he feels is a “demonic” display of men being turned into women and women becoming “more manly” everyday.
He went on to say. “This child shouldn’t be the front runner of the movement.” J-Boog feels like Zaya is being used to push an agenda onto to children. His full comment below.
