The saying goes that there are three sides to every story: your side, my side, and the truth. Over the weekend the world was graced with the bombshell exclusive interview from Oprah Winfrey with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. With the media mogul being given the opportunity to be the vehicle for the couple to reveal their experiences while being in Buckingham Palace, some fans seem to think that another budding media mogul should bring the other side to the table… the “Red Table Talk” that is.
The world stood still and watched as for the first time, the couple spoke at length since stepping away from the Palace and their royal duties. Viewers were promised that no topic would be off-limits.
Over the course of the two-hour-long interview, Meghan Markle, who is currently pregnant with a girl as confirmed by the couple in the interview, said she faced a bevy of negativity, including racism. As she is biracial, she dealt with heavy criticism from British media and some family members. While not revealing the person’s identity, Meghan Markle mentioned conversations of concerns about their son Archie’s skin color.

Meghan also revealed that due to the excessive unhappiness she was experiencing, she began to develop suicidal thoughts. “I was ashamed to say it at the time and ashamed to have to admit it to Harry. But I knew that if I didn’t say it — then I would do it,” said Markle. “I just didn’t want to be alive anymore… And that was a very clear, and real, and frightening, constant thought.”

In an attempt to seek help, Meghan went to higher-ups in the Institution to aide her in this trying time, but those individuals claimed there was “nothing they could do”. “I went to the institution and I said that I needed to go somewhere to get help. I said that I’ve never felt this way before and I need to go somewhere,” she said. “And I was told that I couldn’t, that it wouldn’t be good for the institution.”
Prince Harry, who says that his relationship with his brother and father is strained, also made claims that he felt “trapped” while there, however, did not realize it until his relationship with Meghan. “I was trapped but I didn’t know I was trapped,” he said. “My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don’t get to leave.”
After the interview, headlines began to report of disarray amongst viewers in Britain – including with Palace officials. With the couple being able to speak their side with Oprah, a social media user suggested that perhaps the Queen of England should be able to give an exclusive bombshell interview of her own on Red Table Talk.
A meme was created that showed the Queen super-imposed on the Red Table Talk set sitting in between hosts Jada Pinkett Smith and Willow. Jada Pinkett Smith shared the meme on her Instagram along with the caption “I can’t wit ya’ll!!!!” and a laughing emoji.
Red Table Talk has had its share of popular and exclusive interviews in the past, from Jordyn Woods, to the daughter of Lori Loughlin, Olivia Jade Giannulli, after the college admission scandal. Jada Pinkett Smith also “brought herself to the Table” after the infamous “entanglement” with August Alsina.
