Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk has been a constant source for the actress to come clean about her past and choices she has made throughout her life. Joined by her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris and daughter Willow Smith, Jada has used the platform to bring to light a lot of different taboo topics. From her “entanglement” with August Alsina, to her relationship with Tupac. Most recently she’s opened up about her past struggles during the earlier parts of her career.

Jada Pinkett Smith’s desire for transparency has been the focal point of her career in recent years. With her kids now grown and off building their own legacies, she has taken every opportunity to shed different light on herself and her career. Most recently she opened up more about her relationship with late rapper Tupac Shakur, a bond that she tends to keep pretty close to her. In a post commemorating what would have been his 50th birthday, she shared a poem that he wrote for her during a stint in Riker’s Island. the poem, entitled “Lost Soulz”, seems to be an early draft of the song by the same name released later on in his discography. Jada has opened up in the past about how she met Tupac in high school, even revealing that she was a dealer when they became friends.
“As soon as he approached me, he was like a magnet. Once you paid attention to him he kind of sucked you in. And we hit it off from that moment on. I don’t think either one of us thought we would have made it in the way that we did, but we knew we were gonna do something.”
Speaking on her history as a user, Jada is opening up to her daughter and mother even telling a story about a bad high she experienced during the filming of Nutty Professor. In a tweet featuring a preview of the conversation, Jada says “In my 20’s I was a binge drinker and experimented with several types of mind altering substances. In this clip I speak on an incident that happened to me in the make up trailer on Nutty Professor after a weekend of partying.”
Elaborating in the clip she talks about how she had a bad batch of X that caused her to pass out in the make-up chair. Jada says she was able to eventually pull it together and told the cast and crew that it was an “old prescription” she took from a vitamin bottle. Watch the full preview below.
