Jamie Foxx is reeling from yet another loss. The 53-year old Oscar winner is grieving today after taking to social media to announce the passing of his aunt Shirley.
Foxx posted a photo of Aunt Shirley in a white outfit, smiling sweetly with a flower filter in her hair.
“Rest in power to our beautiful aunt Shirley… you will be missed but never forgotten… 💔💔💔” he captioned the photo. Support began to pour in from his over 11 Million followers, including other celebrity friends like Nicole Scherzinger and Cedric The Entertainer. A slew of prayer emojis, hearts, and well wishes can be seen throughout his comments.
He did not disclose her cause of death.
Fans of Foxx can only imagine how much more devastating this loss might be, especially since the “Blame It” singer is still be mourning the loss of his sister only 4 months ago.
On October 26, 2020, Foxx broke the sad news of his sister DeOndra Dixon’s passing on his Instagram account. DeOndra was born with Down syndrome,. In 2011, she was named an Ambassador for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation.
Foxx shared a heartbreaking tribute in honor of her memory.
“My heart is shattered into a million pieces… my beautiful loving sister Deondra has transitioned… I say transitioned because she will always be alive… anyone who knew my sis… knew that she was a bright light…”He captioned the post, which featured a black and white picture of him and his sister smiling cheek to cheek.
He continued “I know she is in heaven now dancing with her wings on…tho my pain is unbelievable I smile when I think of all of the great memories that she left me… my family… and her friends…” and stated “Deondra you have left A hole in my heart… but I will fill it with all of the memories that you gave me … I love you with every ounce of me… our family is shattered but we will put the pieces back together with your love… and y’all please keep my family in your prayers… 💔💔💔”
