The troubles that have found their way to rapper Pooh Shiesty continue to remain. The 22-year-old rapper, who is signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records imprint, was detained after allegedly being involved in a incident at a popular Miami club, and now new charges have been placed on him after new developments were brought to light.
CBS local news in Miami reports that on May 30th, Pooh Shiesty, real name Lontrell Williams, was performing at the King Of Diamonds. Authorities claim that $40,000 in cash was taken out of his pocket, inciting the crowd to react. This is when the “Neighbors” rapper allegedly went for a firearm.
Reports also show that the rapper allegedly fired the weapon as he was being escorted out of the club by security – hitting one of the guards. The alleged victim was identified as Frivin Dor, who was hit in his ankle, but could have almost been hit in the torso had he not jumped away in time, a police report explains.
Pooh Shiesty was charged as a result of the incident and according to his attorney, facing a minimum of 20 years. However, Dor would soon recant his statement and instead, stopped cooperating with authorities and refused to press charges.
According to TMZ, Dor documented to the rapper’s legal team that he was on a powerful substance while at the hospital, which clouded his memory of the events. He also stated that the commotion in the club could have possibly been caused by a ceiling fan in a nearby parking garage that fell and that he had no recollection of a weapon on Pooh Shiesty’s person.
It was then revealed that the rapper would not be released anytime soon and would continue to be held without bond, although Dor recanted his statement. The Miami-Herald reports that Pooh Shiesty is being held on a “federal detainer” as they investigate another incident that occurred last year in the Bay Harbor Islands.
“We have been in communication with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and we believe they have a federal detainer on him and are likely to file federal charges,” his defense attorney, Saam Zangeneh, stated. “That doesn’t change our position as to his 100 percent innocence, in both state and federal matters.”
In October of 2020, the rapper and his two friends Bobby Brown and Jayden Darosa were to meet someone outside of a hotel when a “deal” went wrong leading to two people being wounded. Police also claim to have found evidence on Shiesty’s Instagram page, including a photo that showed cash and cars, Complex reports.
Pooh Shiesty is set to remain in custody until July 6th where he has been scheduled a hearing.
