Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have split and are doing the work to make sure things are fairly distributed. While its been reported that Kim has a team of some of the best divorce lawyers to insure their split it amicable, Ye instead is focused on bringing in some of the best jewelers to insure he can get some of their pricier purchases off his hands.
Rumors of trouble have been prevalent for months between the power couple. Ye’s public persona and views have skewed very conservative in recent years, with him endorsing MAGA and even doing a bid for president. While doing his campaign he tearfully confessed that he had contemplated having wife Kim abort their first child North West early on in her pregnancy. He also had a very public meltdown last year where he called out his wife and members of her family via social media.
Kim however, has been doing some incredible work as of late, rebranding herself as a powerful advocate for prison reform. The reality star has been working with politicians and lawmakers to lobby for much needed changes in the prison system that have keep many locked up unjustly, particularly people of color. She’s also working towards her law degree.
The two have been rumored to be living pretty separate lives for the last few months, with Kim and the kids staying in Calabasas and Kanye opting for his ranch in Wyoming.
The Sun reported that “In the last two weeks, Kanye was attempting to sell jewelry he had purchased for Kim to at least two top jewelers.” These actions signaled for people close to him that the couple was heading towards divorce. This news surfaces same week of news outlets reporting the rapper spent $12M of his own money on his 2020 presidential run.
The Sun also stated “His friends knew it was over at that point. He really wanted to stay together but she was done.” They quoted Kanye as recently saying, ” ‘I don’t want to be connected to the Kardashian brand anymore’ but he was so torn because he still very much loves Kim.”
They concluded with “Although he never ended up selling the jewelry he was talking about how he didn’t want to reminded of the past.”
Kim filed for divorce last Friday and is asking for joint legal custody of their kids. The two are reported to have signed a prenup ahead of their marriage.
