Kel Mitchell once had a life that was “All That”. Life took a turn for him when the checks began to dry up after his shows met their end. The talented actor, who would often be paired with comedian/actor Keenan Thompson, went through a very rough period of time. His life has turned around for the better as of late, but his ex-wife is looking to derail his happiness with fresh claims to the public that Mitchell is a deadbeat father.
The “Good Burger” actor was once wed to Tyisha Hampton, but after 6 years of marriage, it ended in divorce in 2005. “After my divorce, I just felt like life was not working out,” Mitchell said, as reported by Page Six.
Mitchell would soon see the light after becoming a stage manager at a nondenominational church in Los Angeles. “Before, it was just about me, but now it is more about Christ,” he said in the same interview. “That’s when things started to turn around in my life. I went through a rough time, but now I have peace.”
Since turning his life around, Kel has remarried to rapper and designer Asia Lee, with whom he shares two children: a daughter named Wisdom and a newborn son named Honor. “I enjoy living this life,” said Mitchell. “I don’t let things frustrate or worry me anymore. I don’t do that because I have peace in my heart.”
Just as he’s continuing to live a stress-free life (he is currently filming the second season of MTV’s Deliciousness), ex-wife Tyisha Hampton is stepping forward with claims that he’s not there for their two children, a son named Lyric and a daughter named Allure.
Hampton is claiming in an Instagram post that Mitchell has not been contributing financially for their kids. “I’m no longer going to be a victim,” Tyisha wrote on Instagram. “I’m collecting everything I’m owed! If you are a fan of his, let him know #payyourex.”
She continued, “You can’t be a man of God and not take care of your past responsibilities! You cannot continue being a hypocrite!”
Hampton then went to claim that she had also served jail time at one point, to which she will go into more detail in the second part of her posts. “I went to jail for his IRS TAX Debt,” Tyisha exclaimed. “Yep, I’m spilling it all, until I get my money. Let’s let him know you can’t do this to your kids and your ex. Make him Accountable.”
Hampton claims that Mitchell owes her around $1.2 million in back child support and spousal support. Her video below.
