Lil Mama found a new enemy in Jackée Harry. The Sister Sister star and “Lipgloss” rapper exchanged some words this week over some transphobic and homophobic comments made by Mama. The nasty back and forth took place on twitter.
Lil Mama has been in the news these last few days for offering her opinion on recent strides made in the LGBTQIA community. Shortly after trans teen Zaya Wade’s Michelle Obama interview went viral, several stars came forward with their thoughts on children and gender identities.
Via her Instagram story, Mama shared her feelings towards kids being able to change their sexuality but not being able to vote or drink.
“So children are too young to smoke cigarettes, too young to drink alcohol, too young to get a drivers license, too young to go to a club, too young to gamble, too young to rent a car, but old enough to cut off their genitals and/or ‘change their gender? This is insanity #America.”
She then added, “DEPOPULATION AT ANY COST CAT FIGHTS SWORD FIGHTS Used be a cat now ima dog WHATEVER TO STOP NEW LIFE REPRODUCTION.”
Mama immediately got flack from members of the LGBTQIA community and other celebrities.
Standing firm in her beliefs, Mama then doubled down by bringing up transphobic jokes made about her in the past. For years people compared her appearance to fellow rapper Lil Bow Wow. Mama also has an infamous exchange with trans performer Leiomy Maldonado during her time as a judge on America’s Best Dance Crew.
You’re doing this for America. Even though you’re the face for transgenders, you’re the face of America right now with this group and it’s not about anybody else. It’s about y’all. You know what I’m saying? So do it for the team. Do it for the team.”
Jackée Harry decided to weigh in on Mama and her recent comments. Taking to her twitter she said “The Lip gloss was never really that poppin'”.
Lil Mama fired back saying “Thought you was a Sister Sister, More like a Sister Act!” wrote the rapper as she mentioned Jackée’s role on the 1990s sitcom. “That’s the problem now. These new young girls don’t respect y’all old b*tches. Why? Because y’all don’t reach out and provide genuine council. You play these internet childish games and end up in a childish mix. WHERE ARE OUR ROLE MODELs? CAUSE IM TIRED OF YALL OLD HOLLYWOOD BULLSH*T! Kiss my ass Jackie.”
