Kylie Jenner Face Backlash After Posting GoFundMe, Asking Fans To Help Cover Friend’s Medical Expenses

It has been reported that Samuel Rauda, a celebrity makeup artist, was involved in a devastating accident that caused him to undergo emergency brain surgery.  Rauda is a makeup artist to clients like Chrissy Tiegen and Kylie Jenner, who shared the news via social media.

Fans were initially alerted of the tragic accident by a tweet from one of Rauda’s friends.  “This weekend [Samuel] went into brain surgery and is still in the hospital on a road towards a very long recovery. An awful accident happened and he flew off a moving vehicle crushing his head into the pavement, suffering from internal bleeding and different injuries to his brain. The surgery went well and now we are just waiting for when Sam wakes,” read the tweet.

“During this time I ask you to join in and help Same & his family with the overwhelming medical expenses (sic),” the tweet continued. “His family has started a go-fund-me, so if you can… anything helps and adds up. Please keep Sam in your prayers and thoughts, he is the most talented and charismatic person I’ve yet to know. I can’t wait to give him a hug and tell him how much he is loved.”

Rauda’s family has set up a GoFundMe account for supporters to help offset the costs for his recovery.  Kylie Jenner took to Instagram to share the GoFundMe information along with her well wishes.  “May God watch over you and protect you [Samuel]” Jenner wrote. “Everyone take a moment to say a prayer for Sam who got into an accident this past weekend. And swipe up to visit his families’ go fund me.”

Once fans noticed Jenner’s post, social media began to trend with criticism towards her.  Many noted her “self-made billionaire” status and wondered why she would not cover the medical expenses, or why the family would have the need to set a GoFundMe page up.

“Kylie Jenner better open up one of her birkins and stop asking us poor folk to donate to her makeup artists’ gofundme,” wrote one user.  “Kylie Jenner posts pictures of her closet with purses worth 100,000 plus dollars, poses seductively in front of her many vehicles, while asking fans to donate to her friends medical surgery when she could have paid it quietly and made it back in a day? She’s the embodiment of ego,” wrote another.
