Lamar Odom has been a tabloid favorite for many many years, which especially heightened during his relationship and marriage to Khloe Kardashian. The former NBA player has decided that nobody can tell his story better than he, with the release of his tell-all book, Darkness to Light.
“I wanted to be loved, but I could never find love,” wrote Odom in his book, as reported by DailyMail. Odom was referring to the many sexual trysts that he’s had over the years. The former Lakers star claimed in the book that when his mother, Cathy Mercer, passed away when he was the age of 12, he began to use “[intercourse] to fill a void” during the grieving.
“I would [have] five or six girls a week, but my demons tormented me on the one night I went home alone,” Odom said. “I needed women as an outlet … an escape. But this does not come without problems … most of my [hookups] has been unprotected, and I’ve paid for plenty of abortions over the years,” he admitted.
Odom states that all of his encounters were “legal”, however, he “doesn’t feel proud about [them] at all.”
Within the book, Lamar Odom also discusses his marriage to Khloe Kardashian, which lasted from 2009 to 2016. Odom went into detail of an account in which during an episode of which he was high and threaten to end her life.
“Khloé came down and knocked on the door,” he recalled. “I opened it suddenly and grabbed her forcefully by the shoulders, which frightened her. ‘What are you doing?’ I screamed, out of my mind. ‘You trying to embarrass me in front of my friends? I’ll f’ing k-ll you! You don’t know what I’m capable of!’”
He shared that she ran upstairs due to her frustration, and later he asked his now ex-wife for forgiveness. “I was embarrassed and ashamed,” he stated in the book. “It was a new low for our relationship and my life … the most regrettable moment in a series of regrettable moments.”
Lamar was a recent guest on The Morning Hustle radio show, and he shared that he regrets the things he’s done while married to Khloe because “she was real good” to him. When asked if he could relive a particular time what it would be he shared, ”I would probably say it was the first time I decided to cheat on Khloe,” Lamar said. “I would rewind that back and take those things back and never let that happen.”
