Las Vegas New Anchor, Feven Kay Trending After Being Found Passed Out, Naked In Her Car, Later Arrested For ‘Reckless Driving’

A news anchor normally gives the news but is hardly ever the subject of the headlines they are used to giving on-air.  However, a local Las Vegas anchor is now being reported about as she was recently arrested after being passed out in her car… in the nude.

Born in East Africa and raised in California, Feven Kiflegiorgis, also known as Feven Kay, is a weekday morning anchor for Fox 5 Las Vegas.  The NY Post retrieved her LinkedIn profile, which states that she began her employment there in November of 2018.  According to the profile, Kay also previously worked at KTLA in Los Angeles as an assignment editor and as a news desk intern at TMZ in 2012.

At approximately 7:30 am on Monday morning, March 20th, authorities busted Kay asleep at the wheel of her Audi, and naked.  The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Feven’s Audi was located by authorities in the travel lane on Matthew Avenue, near Paradise Road and East Windmill Lane.

As she stumbled out of her car, police say that she claimed to not have remembered how she got to that location.  They also noticed a distinct smell of alcohol on her person, however, she declined to submit to her blood for testing.

Kay was then arrested and charged with reckless driving with a disregard for the safety of a person or property.  She was also sentenced last Wednesday to a $1,000 fine and driving school, according to the Review Journal

In a statement aired by Fox 5, Kay touched on her absence, labeling it a “private matter.”  “Many of you noticed I’ve been off air for a few weeks,” said Kiflegiorgis to viewers. “To all of you who have reached out, a sincere thank you for your concern.”

She continued, “Last month, I was arrested by Metro for driving under the influence.  At the time of the arrest, I was inside of a parking vehicle in a Las Vegas neighborhood alone.”

Kay shared to the viewers that her charges were reduced to “misdemeanor reckless driving”.  She concluded, “As I move forward, I want you to know I have learned from this and I will continue learning and I truly thank you for your support.”

Reportedly attempts made by various publications for additional statements from Kiflegiorgis have been unsuccessful.
