Lil Nas X Reveals He’ll Have Kirk Franklin On ‘Call Me By Your Name’ Remix To Even Things Out

Could it be that two superstars in music who have recently seen their fresh share of controversy could be joining together in an unexpected collaboration?  According to Lil Nas X, it is so.  Either way, Lil Nas X is “gonna ride til he can’t no more!”

Recently, Lil Nas X has been the topic of conversation after the release of his controversial music video for his single “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”.  The song has been on atop the iTunes and Spotify charts since its release, thanks in massive part to the constant happenings around it.

From the visual where he’s seen in thigh-high stilettos and underwear, descending on a stripper pole to hell where he then twerks on the devil.  To the announcement of his sneakers, the “Satan shoes”, which at first was under the impression that it was a collaboration with Nike (the company that he did collaborate with, MSCHF, is getting sued by Nike).

Upon the announcement, Nas received widespread condemnation from the Christian community.  The shoes which were priced at $1,018, however, reportedly sold out in under a minute.

Some prominent figures have also come into play to speak against the release of the song and its visual.  Names like Brandon Casey from Jagged Edge, Candace Owens, and a few others voiced their disdain for it.

Rapper Joyner Lucas tweeted, “I think the biggest problem for me is the fact he dont understand ‘old town road’ is every kids anthem. Children love him for that record. They tuned in and subscribed to his channels. So with no disclaimer he just dropped some left field ish & all our kids seen it. Smh”

Lil’ Nas X responded with, “i literally sing about lean & adultery in old town road. u decided to let your child listen. blame yourself.”

With all of the condemnation and conversation surrounding the song, Lil Nas X made an announcement on social media that for the song’s official remix, he would be adding gospel superstar, Kirk Franklin.

“I’m gonna put kirk franklin on the call me by your name remix to even it out u guys,” tweeted the star.  Perhaps jokingly, but we shall see what happens in the future.  Kirk Franklin has been known to collaborate with secular artists on many occasions.

Kirk Franklin has also been involved in his own controversy surrounding his family, specifically his estranged son, Kerrion Franklin.
