Lil Uzi Vert, the mercurial Philadelphia rapper behind, “XO Tour Llif3” and “20 min” has made waves for colorful hair, outlandish statements, and eccentric fashion right alongside his musical endeavors.
Rappers have had a storied love affair with bling and gold chains even dating back to the frontier age of Hip-Hop with Run D.M.C. and LL Cool J sporting shiny links around their neck since the 80s.
Now he’s turning heads for a pink diamond that he had surgical implanted into his forehead by longtime custom personal jeweler Elliot Eliantte Jewelers. Boasting of the rock’s price, Lil Uzi wrote, “I’ve been paying for a natural pink diamond from Elliot for years now. This one stone cost so much I’ve been paying for it since 2017. That was the first time I saw a real natural pink diamond. A lot of M’s in my face.” The tweet was capped off with twenty-four moneybag emojis that are being interpreted to be indicative of a $24 million price tag.
Answering questions from followers, Lil Uzi added, “I just finished, I was paying millions since 2017.” He also wrote, “It’s 10 almost 11 carats.”

And it didn’t take long for fellow rapper, Sauce Walker to weigh in. Sauce boasted of being the originator and trendsetter behind Lil Uzi Vert’s decorative procedure, barraging him with a bevy of criticism via Instagram. His post, a screen-capture of jeweler Eliantte’s Instagram photo, was captioned, “Keep following The leader lol [crying laughter emoji] YALL LOOK AT @eliantte@liluzivert GETTIN TO COPY A N***A DRIP [raindrop emoji] [crying laughter emoji] d**k munching my style for 4-5 years lol [crying laughter emoji] yal still can’t see this s**t [crying laughter emoji] ‼ #DRIPGOD IS MY NAME #TooMuchSauce lol S/o @liluzivert I KNO IM THE INFLUENCE & YOUR THE INSPIRATION.”
Others noticed the similarity of the photo and jewel placement to another famous stone in pop culture.
