Mariah Carey Admits Ellen Degeneres Made Her ‘Extremely Uncomfortable’ Forcing Her To Reveal Pregnancy Before She Was Ready

The “hate train” just won’t slow down as daily, it seems, new reports of comedian and talk show host Ellen Degeneres’s antics, as well as allegations of a “toxic work culture” that surrounds her award-winning show, have surfaced in the news cycles.  Amidst the allegations and criticism, determined fans hastily dug up past interviews and instances to further prove that the once labeled “Queen of Nice” was actually quite the opposite.

Many celebrities have come forward in attempts to clear the name of Degeneres, of whom some call their friend.  Artists from the likes of Kevin Hart to Katy Perry have spoken out to debunk these claims, as well as offering words of encouragement to her.  “It’s crazy to see my friend go thru what she’s going thru publicly,” says Hart in an Instagram post dedicated to Degeneres.  “I have known Ellen for years and I can honestly say that she’s one of the dopest people on the f***ing plant.”  He continued on to chastise the Internet for becoming a place of negativity that becomes enamored with people’s downfall.  “This post is not meant to disregard the feelings of others and their experiences,” he concludes.  “It’s simply to show what my experiences have been with my friend. Love you for life Ellen…”

Despite receiving an outpouring of support from Hart, Perry, and others like actors Alec Baldwin and Ashton Kutcher, talk show host Jay Leno, and wife Portia Di Rossi, an internal investigation was conducted by WarnerMedia.  Following said investigation, three top producers were removed of their duties from The Ellen Degeneres Show.  More news of bullying and other toxic behavior would arise following the investigation from both current and former employees, as well as allegations of sexual misconduct.

Video Clip Of TV Host Ellen DeGeneres ‘Forcing’ Mariah Carey To Sip Champagne To Prove She Wasn’t Pregnant Resurfaces, Twitter Reacts

Reports that Ellen addressed her staff emerged amidst the allegations.  People magazine claims the talk show host was emotional and apologetic as she addressed the staff, stating the allegations were “heartbreaking”.  A source tells the magazine she did not take any questions, but stated the show would “come back strong” when it returns for its upcoming 18th season.

One of the most recent interviews that resurfaced amidst the drama surrounding Degeneres is an interview she had with Mariah Carey back in 2008 where she coerced the singer into having a sip of champagne.  This was done in hopes to get the superstar to admit to a rumored pregnancy.  After Carey coyly asks Ellen not to discuss the matter, Ellen proceeds to get a bottle along with accompanying flutes and says “Let’s just toast with champagne and decide!”  Carey was then forced to announce her pregnancy shortly thereafter, and unfortunately would miscarry.

During a recent interview with Vulture, she addressed the now-infamous interview with Degeneres, telling how it made her feel.  “I was extremely uncomfortable with that moment is all I can say. And I really have had a hard time grappling with the aftermath,” Carey tells the publication.  “I wasn’t ready to tell anyone because I had had a miscarriage. I don’t want to throw anyone that’s already being thrown under any proverbial bus, but I didn’t enjoy that moment.” Carey continued to explain that she had “an empathy that can be applied to those moments that I would have liked to have been implemented. But what am I supposed to do? It’s like, [sings] ‘What are you going to do?’ ”

Since then, the superstar has given birth to twins, Moroccan and Monroe (aka Roc and Roe/Dem Kids) with her ex-husband Nick Cannon in 2011.  This year also brings another milestone to Mariah as she celebrates 30 years in the music business.  She has recently been releasing remix EPs of many of her prominent hits, as well as preparing for the upcoming release of an album compiled of unreleased songs and demos called “The Rarities”.  One release that many are looking forward to and that is leading her latest press run is the release of her upcoming memoir, “The Meaning of Mariah Carey”.
