Megan The Stallion has been making music for the liberated since the start of her career. Her empowering energy has encouraged people to be ok with their sexuality. In her songs she has referred to herself as a savage and a B**** amongst other things. When recently responding to fans via twitter, she opened up about trying to take ownership of words often used to make women feel inferior. Unfortunately not everyone was here for it.
Megan scored some massive hits last years with records like “Savage”, “WAP” and “Body”. Each song showcases lyrics that express just how much she owns her sexuality and is not ashamed to talk about her body . She and Cardi got some criticism about their collaboration and even had artists like Cee-Lo Green and Snoop Dogg saying they went to far, despite some very liberated songs in their catalogs. “A lot of music today is very unfortunate and disappointing on a personal and moral level,” Green began. “There was once a time when we were savvy enough to code certain things. We could express to those it was meant for with the style of language we used. But now music is shameless, it is sheer savagery.”
Despite the criticism Megan still took her brand and music to one of the biggest stages in the world, the Grammys. While there she and Cardi performed a raunchy rendition of their hit while she took to the stage solo to do a medley of her own hits. She even nap an award for Best Rap Performance and shared a moment with “Savage” collaborator Beyonce on stage.
Megan is currently easing her way back into the spotlight after a brief “hiatus” from music, announcing a handful of new singles and new ambitions for her next project. One upcoming song, titled “Thot S***” had fans questioning her motivations. “@theestallion what inspired you to make thot sh!t?” asking one. “I’m really just talking shit and taking ownership of the words “thot” and “hoe” bc they’re not the drag the men think it is when trying to come at women for doing them.”

Not everyone was here for it. “Are we normalising being a thot now?” asking one fan. Another chimed in “Meg I love you dearly but this is kinda lame to me respectfully I thought you would be on some other shit I hope you are successful in all your aspirations I’m just unable to see what’s cool about this here it’s so…. Blah.”
