Megan The Stallion is officially a Grammy Winner. The Houston hottie’s viral collaboration with Beyonce not only scored her a #1 record last year, but has also netted her her first Grammy win. She excepted her award from home in this years ceremony.

“Savage” was one of the biggest songs of 2020. This was thanks in large part to several dance challenges via Tiktok. It didn’t hurt that Beyonce blessed her hometown native with an exclusive remix as well. The pair topped the chats almost instantly with their pairing, duking it out with Nicki and Doja Cat’s “Say So” remix for a few weeks. The result was a quadruple dose of girl power and black girl magic atop the billboard chats.
In the time since she’s continued to cement herself and a hitmaker with follow-up singles like “Body” and “Cry Baby”, but its safe to say “Savage” is her signature record.
She was nominated for Best Rap Performance against Lil Baby (“The Bigger Picture”), Big Sean (“Deep Reverence”), the late Pop Smoke (“Dior”), DaBaby (“BOP”), and Jack Harlow (“WHATS POPPIN”). This marks the first time two women have been gifted the award.
In her speech she said, “I’m so excited. Sometimes I’m in disbelief. I cannot believe I’m this girl from Houston who really made it. Me and my mom used to always talk about me being at the Grammys, and she’d tell me that I’m going to win a Grammy.”

Megan is yet another female newcomer to win a Grammy over leading female Hip-Hop star Nicki Minaj. It was been no secret that the award show has overlooked Minaj several eyes over the years. Cardi B famously won an award before Nicki, with Megan’s latest win to follow.
While many Nicki fans were supportive of her “Hot Girl Summer” collaborator, some were salty.

The fact that Megan the stallion won a Grammy before Nicki Minaj just shows you how meaningless the Grammys are https://t.co/wy7MqEhoHf
