During her time as a Spice Girl, Mel B shared that people of the world need to “Spice Up Your Life”. It looks like her life is about to receive that same treatment as there may be an upcoming film that depicts some moments of her life that she would rather the public not see. Her ex-nanny, Lorraine Gilles, recently announced that she has been developing and penning a script which she hopes to release on the big screen. What is the movie about? Let’s just say Scary Spice might have some Scary times ahead.
When she was 18-years-old, Lorraine Gilles was hired to be a live-in nanny for Mel B and her then-husband, Stephan Belafonte. A relatively unknown Gilles would later find herself the subject of many headlines when she was brought up in the drama surrounding the ex-couple’s messy divorce.
Mel B filed for divorce and alleged that Belafonte had subjected her to years of abuse and sexual exploitation and had cheated on her with Gilles, at one time impregnating her, causing her to have an abortion, according to TMZ. She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce, also labeling Gilles a “homewrecker.”
Gilles would later fire back with a defamation lawsuit, after Mel B’s claims. Soon, a 128-page dossier detailing intimacy between the couple and Gilles, most of them with just the former Spice Girl and the ex-nanny, would become public. According to court documents obtained by The Mirror, they often enjoyed threesomes, with Mel B behind a camera’s lens to film the experience.
Further attempting to clear her name, Giles and her legal team addressed many of Mel’s claims in the detailed documents. “My sexual and employment relationship with Melanie continued for approximately seven years until September 2016,” she clarifies, according to court documents obtained by The Mirror.
“During my time with Melanie, she and I had [relations] sporadically, sometimes [occurring] multiple times in a week. On the other hand, I never had any[…]relations with Stephen without Melanie’s instruction and without Melanie’s actual or apparent consent. At no point did I represent to Melanie that I was pregnant with Stephen’s child.”
She also admitted elsewhere in the document that she at one time was excited about an upcoming encounter, expressing it in an email saying it had been “too long” since the last time. Gilles shared that her fear is for the recordings to be released, saying “These recordings would be extremely embarrassing to me and my family… I do not want any of them to become public.” Gilles was eventually awarded a six-figure settlement in which Mel B had to pay.
Gilles has since seemingly become a bit more expressive with her body as she recently launched an OnlyFans account. She also shared with her followers on Instagram that she would now be opening up about her experience moving to Los Angeles in 2009 and what has transpired from that dream, which includes “some choices that led me down a different path and I put that dream aside for many years,” according to her post.
“After experiencing global defamation I thought I’d never be able to pursue that dream again, but I healed and came out stronger than ever and it feels amazing,” she writes. “I picked myself up, got a real estate license to work on the side, and started to write a story. A story that displays on what it was like for me to come to Hollywood with big expectations just to find out and see what it’s really like here.”
She continues to share that everything that she’s experienced allowed her to turn the story into what she hopes to be will be a feature film. ” I don’t want to live with regrets and feel ‘what if‘ I had tried,” she adds. “So I am going to try and if it works, amazing. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll be able to live with that too, because I tried.”
The Mirror caught up with Gilles who further revealed that she so far has “written 80 pages of script, and am working with friends in the film industry.” Although it’s been reported that she’s signed a gag order as a part of her settlement, she will continue with the “juicy” script.
“It has a ‘dramedy’ element to it, like The Wolf of Wall Street. When I talk about something serious, I make a joke about it,” she added about the film. “Some of it is my true Hollywood experience as a nanny.”
After Gilles made her announcement of her upcoming project, Mel B’s ex husband got in his petty bag and reposted a screenshot of the article, mentioning his ex-wife. “Oooh [poop emoji] [Mel B],” he wrote, “Things might get spicy for u!!” See the post below.
