Michael Strahan’s Ex-Wife, Jean Muggli Strahan Jailed After Harassing Ex-Girlfriend Despite Order Of Protection Against Her

Michael Strahan’s ex-wife, Jean Muggli Strahan, has got a lot of trouble on her hands and is now facing time behind bars. Jean Muggli and Strahan’s marriage ended in a rough divorce, and she moved on to another relationship, which also proved to be as turbulent. According to TMZ, she’s now in custody and facing charges for after violating an order of protection against her ex.

Strahan and Muggli’s marriage was defined by the Daily News as a “fairy tale marriage.” The couple met at a spa in 1999 and romance soon followed. Their marriage brought forth fraternal twin daughters, Isabella and Sophia, born in December of 2004. Unlike most fairy tales, however, this particular one’s ending was far from a happily ever after scenario.

A bitter, messy, and highly contentious divorce battle was soon to follow after they split in 2006. The retired NFL player was subjected to an acrimonious custody battle where he sought full custody of his children amidst claims of abuse from Muggli, which he vehemently denied. She would eventually retract the claims, but the battle was far from over.

The New York Post reported that Strahan alleged in court documents that their children were subjected “to verbal and physical abuse” for years by Muggli. Also in the court documents, he states that his ex-wife “[failed] to take the girls to court-ordered therapy sessions and that she has caused them to miss volleyball matches and equestrian events,” according to the Post.

Their messy battle would heavily dwell in tabloids, many reporting that residents would hear “loud fights” coming from their home. Muggli also reportedly took Strahan’s belongings out of their Montclair, NJ home when he was not present and conducted an impromptu yard sale, Page Six reports.

“That weekend, she threw his stuff outside and put up a ‘yard sale’ sign,” a neighbor reportedly told Page Six. “There was his personal football stuff and personal effects.”

Eventually, Muggli was awarded $15.3 million, which did not include an additional $18,000 a month in child support, according to the Page Six. The child-support payments, however, were reduced to $13,000 a month once he retired from the NFL in 2008.

Following their split, Jean Muggli began dating a woman by the name of Marianne Ayer. But that relationship also ended in turmoil, with multiple allegations against Muggli from Ayer. TMZ is now reporting that Muggli has been taken into custody in New York City on Friday after she violated an order of protection that was taken out against her.

According to Ayer, the harassment began once the relationship ended. In June, Ayer filed legal documents filled with multiple accusations against Muggli which included coercion, grand larceny, and forcible touching. Also, Ayer alleges that Muggli threatened her by using a toy plastic gun that belonged to a child, but led her to believe that it was real.

A video showing Muggli being led away from cops was uploaded to TMZ after she showed up to Ayer’s household unannounced on Friday.
