Even if the fight resulted in a tie, no one was truly mad that the legendary boxers Mike Tyson and Roy Jones, Jr. decided to return to the ring against each other. Now that the fight has concluded and everyone is still alive, the returns are coming in and it’s clear they’ll be sitting pretty.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the 53-year-old Tyson had been offered up to $20 million to fight from the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship to compete in a single fight. The company is also considering sweetening the offer, raising it and also adding other incentives, like charitable donations.
“We’re not successful yet in making that Mike thing happen. But I don’t think the door’s shut,” BKFC President David Feldman said. “He [didn’t] say no immediately. But I think there’s room there.”
Also reported were that Evander Holyfield was down for a rumble in the ring with Tyson, who Tyson famously bit on the ear back in 1997.

“I wouldn’t ask nobody to do anything they don’t want to do,” Holyfield told Sky Sports of a potential rematch with Tyson. “But it’s for charity. If we can work something out that works for everybody, then it’s a win-win-win.”
In the end, Tyson and Jones, Jr. ended up agreeing to spar with each other in an exhibition boxing match. According to the California State Athletic Commission, who released the official purse amounts, both Tyson and Jones, Jr. made a cool $1 million dollars for their efforts.
