Moniece Slaughter left the Love and Hip-Hop: Hollywood franchise but she’s still an influencer of sorts, due to the relationships that she’s had with various folks still in the industry and her own long history with the music biz. One of her more interesting paramours was Shaq, and she’s shared new insight into their relationship.
Shaq, for his part, hasn’t stopped working during the lockdowns, doing his part to give back to people who are struggling during this pandemic gripping the globe. Shaq partnered with American Express for the “Coalition to Back Black Businesses,” which is a grant program designed to help Black-owned businesses get back on their feet, providing funds and mentorship along the way to help their business become successful once again.
“It’s a shame 40 million Americans have lost their jobs, but in these Black communities with Black businesses, a lot of people have lost their lifelong jobs. I’m happy to support the first ever Coalition of Black Businesses.”
While one celebrity is giving folks money, a different Love and Hip-Hop star from the Atlanta series has been taking it, a total 180 that left many stunned at the blatancy of it all. Maurice “Mo” Fayne, the now ex-husband of season regular Karlie Redd, has been charged with Federal bank fraud.
Making his first court appearance Wednesday in Georgia, according to the US Department of Justice, Fayne, 37, applied for a Payment Protection Program loan for a corporation called Flame Trucking on April 15, saying he needed the money to pay employees and for other business expenses. He then spent much of the $2,045,800 cash on himself, federal prosecutors alleged.
His list of expenses include $85K in jewelry, $40K for child support and an undisclosed amount on a 2019 Rolls-Royce Wraith – which still had temporary dealer tags on it.
“The defendant allegedly stole money meant to assist hard-hit employees and businesses during these difficult times, and instead greedily used the money to bankroll his lavish purchases of jewelry and other personal items,” said assistant attorney general Brian A. Benczkowski.
Fayne also had over $9K cash on him in his pockets and $80K cash in his home when it was searched. Authorities also seized $503K in PPP funds from 3 of Fayne’s accounts.
It’s drama like this why Moniece left the show, on top of having her own mental health and custody issues to deal with alongside the father of her child, former B2K and fellow star of the L.A. spin-off, Lil Fizz. However, it’s her relationship with Shaq that was up for discussion recently.
Appearing on the The Domenick Nati Radio Show, Moniece spoke on the brief relationship that she had with Shaq for a year back in 2011. Moniece’s outbursts are well known to fans of the LHH:H franchise and it seems she didn’t mesh well with Shaq’s form of communication.
During the time, there were some internet rumors about infidelities happening between the two, and when she approached Shaq about them, he broke it off.
“He broke it off with me because I was asking too many questions. He doesn’t want to be questioned. He does not like to be cornered. And I’m the type where I’m like, ‘I don’t give a f**k who you are. If I’m concerned, I’m going to voice this concern, you’re going to answer it.”
