For the past few weeks, there’s been someone whose been getting underneath 50 Cent’s skin in a way that he seemed to be unable to stop. An Australian artist, known as Lushsux, has taken to painting various murals of 50 Cent, featuring his face drawn onto other celebrities’ heads. It’s caused the “In Da Club” rapper a lot of grief and now it seems that the artist has been beaten up.
Lushsux found fame after his infamous 2016 mural of then presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton. In the mural, Clinton is featured in a American flag bikini with $100 tucked inside. Lushux was later threaten with a council fine over the image. Lushux responded by covering Clinton’s image with a niqab.
‘We believe that this mural is offensive because of the depiction of a near-naked woman, not on the basis of disrespect to Hillary Clinton, and it is not in keeping with our stance on gender equity,” the council chief executive, Stephen Wall, responded.
The artist took to Instagram to share the fact that he was in the hospital from having been assaulted while trying to paint murals recently. It seems as if his artistic endeavors aren’t all the fun and games that many online seem to take when viewing his pictures and sharing them. For his part, Lushsux seemed to take it in stride but was definitely upset about the attack.
“I dont like to bring up all the bad stuff I have to deal with just to paint some ha ha funny you laugh now images on walls but I guess now is a chance,” the caption continued.”
“I constantly have to unwillingly fight people ( among other insane shit you would not believe even if I told you ) on the street who for whatever cooked reason seem to feel the need to come up to me at a wall and start trouble. It’s tiresome, but it will not ever stop me doing what 99.8% of what everyone else seems to for the most part get a hearty chuckle out of, because they aren’t sociopathic pieces of shit.”
This level of troll serves 50 Cent right. In recent months, 50 Cent has found himself trolling and beefing with Oprah Winfrey, her bff Gayle King, his son, Marquise Jackson, Ja Rule, Irv Gotti, 6ix9ine, and his latest nemesis Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
One of the main strategies to 50 Cent sparking feuds is simple, “If I can’t a friend, at least let me be an enemy.” In his new book, Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter, 50 Cent outlines the strategy in detail – explaining he always prefer to be friends with someone, but if they’re not interested, then I consider being enemies the next best option.”
“No one asks their friends if they’ve listened to a song they feel neutral about,” he continues. “No one mentions a writer or a designer that doesn’t elicit a strong reaction in them. We only bring up things we love. Or things we hate. I’d always prefer the love. But if I can’t get that, I’ll take the hate. There’s always a chance I can turn that hate into something positive.”
50 Cent posted that he was not the one that did it, which I’m not sure anyone thought he directly did – given that the artist is in Australia. Still, Fif felt the need to make a statement and clarify, just in case any of the fans – or authorities – thought he had something to do with it.
“🤭the artist got 👊in the 😆that wasn’t me i didn’t do that. 😠,” 50’s caption read on his post in which he used a shot of one of the artist’s murals that featured his face on Oprah’s head.
Although 50 Cent told his fans he wanted to ‘hit him in the back of the head,’ Lushsux did make a post clearing up the fact that he didn’t think it was 50 Cent for his part. The artist took to twitter to share his injuries.
Six9ine has also been featured on Lushsux work. 6ix9ine known as of late for trolling and rating more than his music received his own treatment, which Lushsux cited as fitting since he’s going to call the FBI for it anyway.
Fans of Lushsux’s work found the illustration hilarious adding rat emojis to the comment section. Some fans called out ‘New Yorkers’ coming to invade the comment section for disrespecting the self-proclaimed ‘King of New York.
Maybe it could have been Snoop Dogg, the iconic rapper who now seems to be getting the Lushsux’s treatment? We will find out, one day. Maybe.
Other celebrity murals include Taylor Swift, Doja Kat, Elon Musk, Former President, Barack Obama and more.
Comedian, Dave Chapelle.
