Larsa Pippen has been in the news a lot lately thanks to a leaked picture that showed her walking arm in arm with 24-year-old Minnesota Timberwolves NBA player Malik Beasley. Although she and her estranged husband NBA Bulls Legend Scottie Pippen have been separated since 2018, she has seemed to make headlines for making her rounds in the dating circuit, from Tristan Thompson to rapper Future.
This time around, the news is hitting a little differently due to Beasley’s marital status. His wife Montana Yao, an Instagram model, was reportedly blindsided by the photos. Yao took to her Instagram stories to show her disdain for the situation, as she had been home upset that he wasn’t able to make it home to celebrate his 24th birthday. She claims she had no idea that Beasley was in Miami, much less spending time with Pippen.
“I’ve always and will forever remain true to who I am and GOD has never let me down,” she wrote on Instagram. “The truth always comes out one way or another. Appreciate all the love ya’ll for real.” She then stated, “Wow… I don’t even know this man… this is wild y’all I’m seeing it for the first time just like y’all.” According to sources close to TheShadeRoom, Yao is reeking a divorce after retaining a lawyer.
Pippen’s son, Scotty Pippen Jr., also shared a cryptic message amidst all of the drama surrounding her. “Focused on myself and my goals. I’m not responsible for nobody’s actions. All good over here,” he tweeted, after liking a slew of messages suggesting that he must be tired and disappointed in his mother’s actions.
Although they aren’t together as husband and wife, that hasn’t stopped Larsa from defending the once love of her life. Earlier this year ESPN aired a 10 episode docuseries about Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls team/organization. Each episode, while centered around Jordan and his dynamic with the team, would also focus on certain prominent teammates, including Pippen. Conversations surrounding the All-Star player focused on not only his talent but that he was the most undervalued player on the team, despite having a multimillion-dollar deal.
A scene on one of the episodes showed Pippen embroiled in an argument with then-general manager Jerry Krause in a team bus for failing to pay him what he thought he deserved, and some fans felt he was “ungrateful” while others berated the NBA for not valuing him the way they should have. The phrase “$18 million Scottie Pippen pity party” would soon begin to trend on Twitter, causing Larsa to rush to social media to make his defense.
“Thx for your concern Scottie did ok #TheLastDance,” she wrote on Twitter, coupled with a screenshot of an article from Bleacher Report showing his NBA earnings: $109,192,430. “Scottie Pippen will be best remembered for playing the Robin to Jordan’s Batman, but No. 33 actually pulled in almost $20 million more than MJ did during his playing days,” the article reads.
The former NBA star most recently found himself the target of a clout-chaser when a woman named Adrianna Brown decided she wanted to become a part of the conversation. Brown took a screenshot of a fire emoji comment that Scottie Pippen left on one of her posts and shared it on her Instagram Story. “He better not start this sh*t,” she wrote along with a series of twisted face emojis.
She wasn’t done, however, because she also shared that he had slid in her DMs calling her “gorgeous”, and in another slide posts a picture of Pippen with the caption, “Whhhhy do these n—-s feel like it’s necessary to comment on my page tho? Like sir, I didn’t respond to your DM on purpose.”
Hollywood Unlocked shared her Instagram Story to their page, which caught the attention of Larsa and she couldn’t help but to jump into the comments to once again, defend Scottie. “Lame af why post it u could have just ignored it,” she said.
Brown has since come forward to share that she didn’t intend for it to get out, as she posted it on her “close friends” section of the stories. To her surprise, one of her “close friends” leaked it out, which prompted her to set her Instagram to private amid much backlash. “Clearly my close friends ain’t my close friends,” she wrote on Twitter, “everybody getting cut off.”
