Nick Cannon is out here making a tribe! The mogul and serial father recently had some brand new additions to his family, and it was announced that he will be adding a seventh “Cannon” to his artillery. With this news, the Internet took notice to a common occurrence of Nick: he’s definitely involved.
The saying goes that you can’t blame a man for being honest, and Nick, host of The Masked Singer, has been just that. Cannon once shared with rapper T.I. on his ExpediTIously podcast that he did not see himself being a monogamous man again.
“I think I’ll never be able to be with just one woman again,” the “Gigolo” rapper said. “I did it in marriage. I was very faithful in my marriage…Once I stepped away from that, I [realized] that construct is not designed for me.” He further expressed that men and monogamy don’t mix, because “it isn’t in their DNA.”
“It’s that hunting mentality, but it’s also like ‘yo if we suppose to be fruitful and multiply,” Cannon shared in a conversation that went viral with Evelyn Lozada. “[There are] not many creatures on earth that are monogamous.”/
In a later interview with Wendy Williams, Cannon shared a different take after Williams brought up his past statements. “I said I’m working on myself so therefore I don’t wanna disappoint anybody and I don’t wanna be responsible for anyone else’s happiness,” he shared. “Especially, I’m a work in progress so I feel like I tried marriage and I feel like now I’m kinda like damaged goods so I’m just trying to figure it out.”
The self-proclaimed “hopeless romantic” shared to the talk show host that he “wouldn’t mind having more children” after she asked. As he figures it out, Cannon continues to add to his already budding roster of children. The rapper’s first set of children were fraternal twins with his first wife – superstar, and legendary singer Mariah Carey: a daughter named Monroe and a son named Moroccan Scott.
After their marriage ended and divorce was finalized in 2016, Cannon welcomed another son named Golden “Sagon” Cannon with his then-girlfriend, Brittany Bell. He expressed in an interview with Power 106 that the baby was indeed planned. “Never an ‘oops baby.’ I’m so calculated with my moves…I’ve always wanted five kids,” he said at the time. “Just because my marriage was over didn’t mean I couldn’t continue my family.”
Nick and Brittany became parents once again in December of 2020 to a baby girl, which they named Powerful Queen Cannon. This would be Nick’s 4th child. Bell shared the news in an Instagram post, captioning the photo that their daughter came at the “perfect timing for Christmas. So much more to share,” she wrote. “All I can say is that Nick was my rock through the most intense yet empowering natural water birth. It was nothing but POWERFUL.”
After much speculation that Nick could possibly have another woman pregnant, it was confirmed when a woman named Abby De La Rosa posted an Instagram photo showing him along with her in their maternity shoot. Finally, on June 14th Nick and De La Rosa welcomed to the world a set of twin boys. De La Rosa shared the news to her Instagram page introducing their children, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir.
Recently, it was shared to the world that Nick Cannon would be having his 7th child, this time with a 27-year-old woman by the name of Alyssa Scott. She posted a photo to her Instagram Stories showing what appears to be her by rocks at a beach in a maternity shoot, accompanied by Nick, whose head is turned away in the photo.
As fans reel in the news of his 7 children, they are also seemingly celebrating that it appears he is heavily involved in each of their lives, as well as the mothers.
