Porsha Williams of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Detained During Louisville Demonstration

Porsha Williams of reality franchise Real Housewives of Atlanta has been spending her time doing more than shading her co-stars. She’s taken to the streets over the past few months, marching and participating in the uprisings attempting to get justice. While her co-stars are concerned with other matters, she’s trying to affect change in her own way.

The 13th season of the show has reportedly commenced taping as of July 16th. Having debuted back in 2008, the show was originally spun off as the third franchise of the Real Housewives franchise and has been on the air ever since. It’s created its own list of breakout stars and personalities, having lost others in the wake of its massive success.

With regards to the current cast of season 13, details haven’t been fully released but cast members Kandi Burrus, Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams have all confirmed their return. However, there’s current Instagram beef between Moore and Williams that just might make it into the current recording of season 13, since it involves both their infant girls.

Last week, Williams posted some adorable pictures of her daughter Pilar Jhena playing with family while sporting a cute braided hairstyle that apparently featured extensions. Fans accused her of damaging her child’s hair potentially, pointing to what they thought was hair loss.

Of course, Williams fired back immediately. “B I N G O,” Porsha wrote in a post. “A lot of you MF’s just got Blocked,” the RHOA star said. “I hope your comment about my baby’s hair was worth it,” Porsha continued. “Her hair is longer and healthier than yours so please mind y’all bald-headed business! Thank you.”

Later on, Moore posted a picture of her own daughter’s hair being combed and with the young Brooklyn Daly caught in a candid pose. It was Kenya’s caption of ‘👶🏽 baby hair’ that some interpreted as shady.

Williams, along with other notable reality stars and personalities, have taken up activism as part of their contribution to the hundreds of people voicing their concerns about the current state of affairs. Williams has partnered with Love and Hip-Hop’s Yandy Smith-Harris, Women’s March co-founder Tamika Mallory and rapper-turned-activist Mysonne in the past to raise the profile of issues surrounding inmate’s rights

At one point, while protesting, Yandy Smith-Harris was reported to have been pepper sprayed and the moment was captured all over social media. Williams herself has been arrested previously, as both were caught up in a sweep when they were protesting Taylor’s death in front of the Attorney General Daniel Cameron’s home in Louisville.

It’s happened again, as justice still hasn’t been achieved in the case. While marching with organization Until Freedom, Williams, Smith-Harris, group co-founder Linda Sarsour and Mysonne are facing charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing a highway. They were a part of a group of over 60 demonstrators who were detained while marching through the city of Louisville.

The mugshots for #PorshaWilliams, #TraeThaTruth and #YandySmith have been released. Earlier today they were arrested in #Louisville as they protested in support for #BreonnaTaylor. At the moment they have not been released or received a bond. We’ll continue to keep you updated.
