Prayers are being requested for Fantasia as she has been hospitalized for a medical scare concerning her pregnancy. The winner of “American Idol” season three shared to her social media followers that she had been admitted to the hospital recently, six months into her pregnancy, after already experiencing contractions.
Back in 2020 the singer, along with her husband Kendall Taylor, announced they were officially adding to their family. Fantasia has two children from previous relationships, while her husband has a son prior to their being together. Their new bundle of joy, whom they shared is a baby girl, will be the first for the married couple.

It looks like their daughter could be trying to make her way into the three months earlier than expected. Fantasia took to her Instagram Story to share the news with her fans.
“Good morning. We’ve been in the hospital all day,” she said. “We have to stay in the hospital for a while. My baby girl thinks she’s missing something out here, but she’s got to stay in here a little longer.”
Thankfully she was not alone, as the Grammy Award-winning artist turned the camera in the direction of her husband, Kendall, sleeping in the corner of their hospital room. “I thank God for my husband,” she continued. “He’s over there knocked out, poor thing. He’s been riding in there with me,” Fantasia says, praising him for being supportive.
Fantasia also shares that fortunately, the “contractions are starting to come down now. My body is just tired,” she added, “but we’ve got this.”
In December of last year, the singer shared in an interview with Tamron Hall that she had experienced struggles with fertility in the past. “At first, we thought we were going to have to do different things. Everybody was suggesting IVF because it wasn’t happening,” said Fantasia in the interview. “This is a three-year journey we’ve been on.”
After a doctor with whom she looked for help shared with her that one of her fallopian tubes had apparently been closed, she and her husband decided to “let go and let God.” God, however, had other plans for the couple as they soon discovered that they soon have a baby on the way.
“I kid you not, I forgot about it … And then I woke up one night, and I was just like, ‘Um, something’s different.” Previous attempts at getting pregnant left her with some leftover pregnancy tests, which she admits she took six of. Fantasia then found out that she was indeed pregnant, and excitedly shared the news with her husband.
Continued prayers for Fantasia as she continues to be hospitalized that she and the baby may remain healthy.
