Cardi B is showing her a** and she doesn’t care. But what else is new? The chart-topper has a history of showing her God-given talents from her days in the strip club to playing one in the movies. Belcaliz is a dancer by nature and if there’s one thing she’s gonna do, she’s going to move her hips. And not even a pregnancy will stop her, as proven in one of her latest sightings.
If “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” were a person, it would be Bronx rapper Cardi B. The “WAP” rapper is never restrained when it comes to showing off her dance moves. It was only right for Cardi to appear as a feature on the City Girls song “Twerk”, where she and the City Girls, surrounded by a chorus of twerking women, proceeded to show off their skills for the music video.
The beauty of it is, Cardi doesn’t keep it to herself, but always shares the good times with her fans. She’s come a long way from being just a girl from the Bronx trying to figure life out and make it work. With tons of hit singles, features, and a hit album to boot, life for Cardi B has undoubtedly changed immensely. For her 27th birthday, Cardi B and her husband hopped on a private jet to Turks & Caicos for a lavish vacation, or baecation, and the luxurious and tropical environment inspired a twerk out of her system.
While there on the island, Cardi shared how “inspiring” her time was. “This s**t is just inspiring. Seeing it [gives] you some kind of chill in your body, like some good s**t about to happen,” said the rapper. “I don’t know if God is connected to earth energy, but I’m just feeling this great energy. I don’t know, maybe it’s a message. It’s a blessing.”
For her husband Offset’s 29th birthday, Cardi gifted her husband with a dance and her followers with a sneak peek of what’s to potentially come for Offset for his birthday. Yes, the two have had their share of marital issues, but one thing is for sure: the love that the couple share for one another is evident.
Taking to social media, Cardi B shared a video clip of an aggressive twerk, telling her fans in the caption that it was a representation of “how imma do [my husband] for his birthday.”
Following what looked to be the end of their relationship, the couple reconciled towards the end of 2020 and spent New Year’s Eve together on a lavish yacht. In a video that was captured to Offset’s stories, he showed a video of his dear wife dancing on him in a pink bikini. while the song “Throat Baby” played in the background.
Of course, Cardi’s freedom to express herself has brought scrutiny her way from critics who believe that she (especially as a mother) should be more reserved and “think about the children”. Amid messages of concern and criticism, her husband Offset has always been a strong and vocal support system for Cardi.
“We should uplift our women, and don’t say what they can or can’t do. You know how long women have been told they can’t do something or they shouldn’t do this or they been blackballed out of entertainment?” Offset said to TMZ. “So I stay out of female stuff. … It’s entertainment […] We can’t really be like judgmental on certain things and certain things we don’t.”
Cardi’s talent with twerking also granted her a role in the 2019 film Hustlers which starred Jennifer Lopez. One would think that it would come natural for Cardi to dance in the film, but she shared that the thought of giving J. Lo a lap dance would make her nervous. Nevertheless, she delivered a performance that left critics wanting more.
Speaking with Cosmopolitan she shared that she holds no regrets in playing the role or sharing her past as a stripper. “People say, “Why do you always got to say that you used to be a stripper? We get it.” Because y’all don’t respect me because of it, and y’all going to respect these strippers from now on,” said Cardi B. “Just because somebody was a stripper don’t mean they don’t have no brain.”
This year brings Cardi into her next level as she comes off of two majorly successful released singles, prepares for her upcoming sophomore album, and expands her family. The soon-to-be mother of two has much to celebrate and be thankful for in 2021. So what better way to celebrate? You guessed it: twerk.
