Rapper Cardi B Send Public Warning To Husband Offset Following Announcement Of Keyshia Cole and Ashanti Verzuz Battle

There weren’t many things to cheer in the decade that was 2020; a year marred by a lethal pandemic, social unrest of various stripes and hyper-partisan politics during a contested presidential election. 

One event that brought folks together, albeit virtually, and elicited smiles and applause was the Verzuz TV music Live-stream series. If you like Hip-Hop, you were offered: Snoop Dogg vs. DMX, Jeezy vs. Gucci Mane, Fabulous vs. Jadakiss. If into R&B and Soul, you had: Brandy vs. Monica, Erykah Badu vs. Jill Scott, Patti LaBelle vs. Gladys Knight. They even included Gospel and Dancehall, featuring respective battles between Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond as well as Beenie Man vs. Bounty Killer. The series of “battles”, launched by legendary music producers, Swizz Beats and Timberland, is more or a less a friendly celebration of two decorated artists’ discography, with a live-performance element sprinkled in.

With the entire World stuck at home under public health mandates and contending for sanity, Verzuz has been a temporary salve all year. The program boasted 5.5 Million viewers for the Jeezy vs Gucci event alone.

Verzuz TV announced that the next installment will feature Aughts R&B songstresses, Ashanti and Keyshia Cole. Fans of the two vocalists have already begun to express their anticipation, notably, Cardi B.

Upon hearing the news, the New York WAP rapper tweeted, “Warning to all you mans out there (including mine) be nice the day of the Ashanti VS Keyshia Verzuz battle. Its going to be a lot of singing with this face [side eye emoji] On you.”

In a subsequent tweet, she further voiced her excitement, “Wait a damn minute? [detective emoji] Keyshia Cole & Ashanti are both Libras!? See I don’t mean to brag but I’m bragging…I can’t wait for this verzuz battle! It’s going to be sooo f*ckin good!!

The warning has been issued, fellas. We see that Cardi’s already put Offset on notice. Expect to see some joyous tweets or Instagram posts from Cardi and other heavyweights in the music game, dancing and crooning along to the heartfelt ballads and bops from the two Libra singers.

Some of her followers responded in kind, extolling their adoration of Ashanti and Keyshia Cole’s respective body of work. A fan wrote, “I’m slapping Ashanti right now can’t wait! Next is keyshia cole!” Others were not as celebratory.

One user commented, “This bout to be the shortest versus battle in history. Ashanti got maybe 5 good songs and Keyshia got like 2 ½.” And another, “I say we take a drink every time we hear missy and we take a drink every time we hear ja rule [weird face emoji].”

More fans argued back and forth on who has the better music and bigger releases with no consensus reached.
