If one were to travel back into time to 1994, you would’ve most certainly heard Da Brat’s Funkdafied, the first platinum-selling hip-hop album by a female artist, blaring out of somebody’s trunk. Same with 1995 and Da Brat’s B-Side, which featured frequent collaborator/producer Jermaine Dupri and the late-great Notorious B.I.G on the Bad Boys Original Motion Picture soundtrack… You may have also learned that she is the half-sister of Player’s Cluband All of Us star actress Lisa Raye. But what you didn’t know was whom she dated.
Already shocking many with her romantic history with famed former NBA Point Guard, Allen Iverson, Ms. Shawntae Harris dropped more jaws in revealing that she once dated Hip-Hop producer and Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta star Kirk Frost. Harris recounted their initial encounter, “He wrote his name and number on 20- 100 dollar bills and begged me to call him. Not begged me, but asked me to call him…and wrote his name and number on the front and back of each one. I got a Lincoln Navigator; I got quite a few things. Maybe throughout the course, for a little while.” Da B-R-A-T says this all happened prior to Frost’s marriage to Rasheeda in 1999.
Those details aren’t too different to what she divulged about her relationship with The Answer, Allen Iverson, during her recent interview with Kandi Burruss, “I would get up in the morning, I’m a grandma’s child, I’m very domesticated, like I like cooking, I like cleaning, I like folding, I like doing stuff like that. It’s like therapeutic. I used to wake up and pick his clothes out, and cook breakfast…the things he liked, just to make sure he was happy, and he spoiled me and made sure I was happy.” She also said about the man with the killer crossover, “It was good for a minute, it was good for a long time…(however) He had too many b*tches.”She got into an altercation with one who approached Iverson scantily clad right in front of her. As she tells it, “I must’ve molly-wopped that b*tch down the hallway…”

Most of the rumors about Da Brat during her celebrated career were over her sexuality, making these two revelations an even greater shock. When Da Brat was being groomed as young artist, Jermaine Dupri sought to market her as a “female Snoop Dogg” with a “reality rap” persona, which at the time was code for “tough” and “gangsta.” It was a stark contrast to her female predecessors in the rap game and rumors circulated about the women she may or may not have been romantically involved with.
Earlier this year, Da Brat went public with her relationship with Beauty and Social Media Mogul BB Judy in an Instagram post of a white gift-wrapped Bentley. The post read, “Never have I EVER. Needless to say… I’ve always been a kind of a private person until I met my heart’s match who handles some things differently than I do. Thank you baby @darealbbjudy for far more than this incredible birthday gift. I have never experienced this feeling. It’s so overwhelming…”

Never have I EVER. Needless to say… I’ve always been a kind of private person until I met my heart’s match who handles some things differently than I do. Thank you baby @darealbbjudy for far more than this incredible birthday gift. I have never experienced this feeling. It’s so overwhelming that often I find myself in a daze hoping to never get pinched to see if it’s real so I can live in this dream forever.
